>Hishida: I felt pressured. At first I was happy that everyone's thoughts and feelings had been rewarded, but then halfway through I began to feel weighed down by the intense enthusiasm of everyone involved (laughs). Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, perhaps it was the fact that we were finally able to hold support screenings again without anymore restrictions that made the film more exciting. >Thanks to everyone's support, you were able to create a long awaited new work. How did you go about coming up the direction of this project, which assembles together all the Pretty Boys across time and space?
>Hishida: It's something I've always wanted to do someday. I had been helping out with Pripara so when I made Pripara the Movie: Everyone Together! Prism Tours and then when WITH started to appear in Idol Time Pripara and things were starting to get exciting, I thought to myself that someday I might be able to do something with them together with KinPri. But it never came to fruition, and I ended up leaving KinPri and the image of them started to fade from my mind. But when it came time to make KinPri again, I thought that the Pretty Boys were not quite as united as I wanted them to be, so I suggested that we do a work that finaly brought everyone together. Since we already had CG made for them I thought it would be easy (laughs). And then it wasn't easy at all! I don't think I'll ever do anything this difficult again.
>It was not simply a collaboration with DanPri but you wanted to bring together all the boys who appeared in Pretty Series.

That's why I've always thought it would be a great idea if all the boys did it too, but no one else did. >Did you feel that if you were going to do it, that you wanted to start with Callings, the origin of all the men's Prism Shows?
>Hishida: I didn't say I wanted to do it. When I told everyone "I've prepared a suggestion box for something like Prism Tours" the people around me started filling the box with things like "you're going to do Callings right?" and "you're going to do the Three Strongest right?" So I saw that and kept saying "really?" as I continued working on it and we ended up going in that direction as a result.
>This time the group rides a time machine developed by the Juuouin Group to watch Prism Shows from various eras, and the members of SPETENTRION go to see the first Prism Show the performed. What are the highlights of Dramatic LOVE?
>Hishida: Part of it was recreating the outfits the cast had worn for a live performance of the song but I had a hard time figuring out what their first Prism Jump would be. Originally, Syn Sophia's Kato-san (Daisuke Kato, the original creator of the Prism Jump) thought up all the Prism Jumps, so he had already come up with something before, but we shelved that idea and spent a lot of time working together brainstorming what kind of jump would be appropriate for their first and that's how we ended up with this one. I didn't expect it. I didn't think we could come up with another cheer, but Kato-san seemed to have put a lot of thought into how to get the audience to cheer and I went along with him.
>The audience even read the sign that said "Great Success!" out loud.

>Hishida: I wonder what was up with that (laughs)! I'm pretty sure it was Matsuura-san (KinPri's character designer Mai Matsuura) who blurted that out. I thought it'd say "It'll be a huge success" And then when I tried to draw it it came out that way. However I had a hard time deciding what to do with it. So I thought maybe we should try adding the sound effect "tettele!" (laughs) In the end we didn't include the sound.
>I think that Showa-era feel is such a typical characteristic of KinPri (laughs). And once again Over the Rainbow delivered a fantastic show. This time the song was Athletic Core as a one year celebrations of the group's formation and it was a new show with Kouji playing drums.
>Hishida: Since athletic core has been performed so many times already with the same song and dance, I asked if there were any other versions and they told me there was a "Combined Robot Launch! ver." Then Otobe-san (CG director) asked me "Would you like to let Kouji play the drums?" And so he insisted on shooting a new dance. Athletic core was originally included to keep the costs down, but the enthusiasm of Tatsunoko's 3D team was so great that it became a new work (laughs).
>This is the first anniversary live of OTR, so it's from when they were younger.
>Hishida: That's right. That's why we used the models from the Rainbow Live era.
>Their new jump was the second installment in the "A Story Woven with You" series ~Young Arc~ and it's a bittersweet Jump filled with the excitement of a school sports festival.

In order to be more exciting than that, we decided to go back to when they were younger and so Kato-san took all of his sweet and sad memories of his school days and sent them for me to use as the basis for the Jump (laughs). I don't think anyone could have imagined this coming this time. I think the moment people, including first timers to KinPri, see OTR's jump they'll be blown away.
>And then came the Prism Shows of the Three Strongest: Himuro Hijiri, Kurokawa Rei, and Norizuki Jin who competed for the top spot in the men's Prism Show. First of all, can you tell us about the song selection?
>Hishida: We've been big fans of Tetsuya Komuro ever since Pretty Rhythm and grateful to him to have been able to use quite a few of trf's songs, so I asked if we could use some of Komuro's other songs as well. All of us who participated in the planning meetings gave ideas for songs we wanted to include in the production and discussed the ideas with the other party, and thankfully we got the OK to use all of them. That's how we decided on the music first and then matched them to the characters.
>Kurokawa Rei's Survival Dance is the Prism Show that Alec had performed previously.
>Hishida: That's righty. It's a Prism Show that shows the origins of what Alec was aiming for and that the Prism Show Alec performed at PRISM.1 was a tribute to it.
>Hijiri was only able to perform that show in the tournament that was held as a prelude to the Prism King Cup. What in particular was you favorite part to pay attention to?

Right after we decided on Get Wild, Otobe sent me a message saying "this is the image I have in mind" and he sent me some very specific footage, including one of a silver medalist in shooting, and so I thought it was fine to go with (laughs). Also, Otobe and I are both from Sunrise so it's overflowing with our love of Sunrise.
>Even a helicopter is flying in the scene.
>Hishida: I only noticed it after the movie came out. I thought "What? There's a helicopter!?" and then they started shooting at us and then there were explosion (laughs). I said "okay!"
>What about the Jump that Hijiri made, the Starlight Express?
>Hishida: This was a failed attempt at four jumps in a row so I wondered how to express it as a failure, then I realized that since it was a train, it would be a failure to miss the train. Because if the direction of his life had taken a slightly different turn, he would have really ended up missing out on June....I think that's what makes it a holy miracle. However at this time he hadn't met the real June yet, so if he had, the jump might have worked out.
>So what about Jin's Longing Sadness and Strenght?
>Hishida: This show is really well done, and even just looking at the dance parts, I think it's the best in all of Pretty Series. The way he makes facial expressions, the subtlties of his movements, and the way his clothes and hair sway back and forth are all wonderful, and I think Otobe is incredible while I watch it.
>This is the show when Jin won the Prism King Cup and became the Prism King.
>Hishida: He truly expressed the dignity of a Prism King, right? There was also a sense of genius that connected him to Hiro as Kings and also a sense of how he influenced young Hiro. I really think it's worth it just to watch this Prism Show.

>What kind of Jump is PRISM ACT Kakumei Desire DREAM IN DREAM?
>Hishida: I'm not sure about it anymore. In the beginning I only had the words "Kakumei Desire" for it, but when I showed it to Kato-san he came up with some text I couldn't understand. When I gave the order to Kyogoku-san (director of the Prism Shows) I said "I don't know what to do with this, so I'll leave the rest up to you!" which is something he's familiar with being asked since Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream, and that's what he came up with. Even after watching it over and over again, I still don't understand it at all, but it is part of Pretty Series tradition to create works that include such things that you don't understand.
>After seeing Jin's Prism Act, Minato comments "looking at it now, it's quite interesting." But why do they feel that way?
>Hishida: Prism Jumps are short but have a big impact, so they're like a one shot comedy. Prsim Acts tend to have a quiet atmosphere and be emotional, so they're not as flashy. but they are very touching and moving. The world Minato and his friends live in currently is in a boom of over consecutive jumps, but watching a Prism Act feels watching a play, or in figure skating terms like an exhibition. Because there is no competitive nature to it it, there is no no weird strife, and so it is just fun. I now feel it's probably a difference in perception. When it comes to Jumps, people are more interested in the number of jumps in a row, but I feel like that is far removed from the true spirit of the original Prism Shows. Incidentally, during Jin's Prism Act, the audience is put into a mass hypnosis so they all fall asleep.
>We're also shown the interaction between the brothers Jin and Hijiri, was there a desire to show the final outcome of the relationship between the two brothers?

>Hishida: The scene where they visit the graves was depicted in the ending of Shiny Seven Stars, and the grave is that of Jin and Hijiri's father, Norizuki Kou, and Hijiri's mother, Maria. When Kou passed away, he was not buried with the graves of Jin's mother's family, but instead had a grave built on top of that cliff. But when Jin went all the way to such a place to visit the grave of the parent who treated him so badly, I think he was finally able to come to terms with his father a little. The fact Jin and Hijiri are able to speak to one another in such a tone shows how close they are, and in my opinion the two have reached a satisfactory conclusion. I didn't think we'd end up making this sequel so I ended up adding a few more lines to the conversation this time to wrap it up.
>Jin said Edel Rose's victory in the PRISM.2 was a fluke, but what about the tournament itself?
>Hishida: This was also something depicted in the ending of SSS. There was the PRISM.2 in which the seven shown there clashed and it was a very extreme battle. My favorite is the Prism Show debut of the 60 year old former office worker. At his shows, he always hands out his business cards first (laughs).
>I'd love to see it (laughs). Another surprise was being able to see the Prism Show of Ryo Yamada, the former Prism King and caretaker of the boys' dormitory at Edel Rose, when he was still active.
>Hishida: During the planning meetings, someone said "I want to see Yamada's show." I had no idea, but you want to see it? (laughs) The idea for the jump was of course Kato-san's and the direction of the Prism Show was given to the director of Pole Princess Hitomi Ezoe, just like with Kyogoku-san earlier I asked her to "fill it with things from your life" and she did just that. I think I also said I wanted someone to make something sweet.

>As mentioned earlier, Callings is the origin of the boys' Prism Show and after 14 years they finally have a CG show. How did you want to present Callings this time?
>Hishida: Like I've said before, I never thought we'd be able to release Callings. The Boys Prism Show wouldn't exist without Sho's Mugen Hug and without it KinPri wouldnt be what it is today, so I thought it would be nice to have Mugen Hug somewhere, but I never thought Callings would get CG and sing 1/1000 Eternal Aesthetics. Once it was decided that we were going to do this project, Tatsunoko's 3D was full of enthusiasm and Otobe-san had already made the model with his shoulders spining around (laughs).
>You can reall feel the love from the staff. I think Sho is one of the most talked about and loved characters amoung the fans of Pretty Series.
>Hishida: It has to be only a small group of people right? I mean he's the kind of character that says "did you think this was a date?" (laughs). Back then all I could think about was how to create a character that would differentiate my work from others, but I wish I could tell my younger self "there's no need to create a character like that." Only now do I understand why they don't include characters like that in anime that are trying to reach a wide audience.
>When Sho sees the stone on the back of Shin's neck he makes the suggestive comment "you're kind of funny" which makes me wonder if he's also playing a slightly different role.
>Hishida: That's true now that you mention it, but it's not something I really thought about deeply. I just thought that way of keeping his distance was very in line with Sho's character. That brazeness or rather the lack of consideration for others (laughs).

>And then SEPTENTRION arrives in mascot hell, meets the Pretty Boys, and has to compete in a performance with WITH. What do you think is the appeal of this team?
>Hishida: First of all, the characters are all very well developed. Their design is rather deformed and cartoonish but their arms and legs are long and I think the costume design and other aspects of them are a highly refined design that look great while dancing. The song is really good, and as someone else said "it's a miraculous imbalance", it's the balance between the three voices that makes it so great. I was making KinPri Pride the Hero when WITH first started and I was watching them thinking "this is great!"
>What about WITH's performance of Super Darling?
>Hishida: Otobe-san is a big fan of Super Darling and said that if they were to be in a movie, he definitely wanted to have them sing and dance to it, so it was something we had long decided on and finally went ahead with it. As for the making drama, Kato-san came up with the idea of "ling up at a theme park for an entire day from noon until the next morning" and so it became the "Prism Fast Pass App".
>How did you come up with the show for SEPTENTRION's new song Love Rose! - Endless Love Love!?
>Hishida: I always wanted the older and younger groups to split up and dance together in combination for a long time, so from the very begining I asked for a song where we could split them into the two groups. Also, I wanted them to skate properly. I was always a little bothered by the fact that even though they're always wearing skates, they weren't always acting like they were skating with them. When I saw Joji sliding back and forth across the stage in his show for the PRISM.1 I thought "if we can do that, I can develop the idea even more" so we expanded on it even further. It's finnaly starting to look like a real Prism Show!

>Hishida: Looking at the text Kato wrote it said "after the Prism Ring let's all be happy ever after". The idea is that each date will become a memory, but we didn't have a specific situation in mind for each date so we had a hard time deciding what to do. I couldn't imagine what kind of date would make a girl's heart flutter so I asked a female production assistant in her first year at Tatsunoko to comeup with a situation for each of the boys and we used her ideas as the basis for the dates.

>Hishida: That's what we intended. I think I was influenced by all the shows in the route as well as Jin's show. Else I never would have imagined that the Prism Ring would become the Act Space.
>This time we had EZ DO DANCE between Taiga and Kakeru vs Shinya and Mario. What were the main points of this battle from the perspective of the general director?
>Hishida: At first, we didn't have any plans to include EZ DO DANCE but AVEX strongly requested it saying "it wouldn't be KinPri without it!" and Moriwaki, director and series composer of Pripara, also came up with the idea saying "they're men, so why don't they fight?" I would have liked to have made them fight for a little bit longer. However I also felt that if we did this, we could use this opportunity to pass the baton and have the OtokoPri team, TrutH, and ARROWS sing EZ DO DANCE.
>Kakeru finally joins in "BATTLE MODE"

>Hishida: Well yeah. But Kakeru and Taiga already faced each other in the stage play KinPri Shiny Rose Stars. So this is their second match based on that. This time they're fighting together, but I hope we showed a glimpse of how they'll fight in their own way after they have a grasp on how to battle. This time, Tatsuki (Fumihiko) is once again providing commentary for the battle but as the underground announcer mascot Moguchi. He was so into it that he even added ad lib, Tatsuki-san has become an indispensable member of the cast.
>Here, after the appearance of Alec and Taiga's pair friends, Torachi and Dorachi, Kakeru's pair friend shows up. When are the pair friends born in the world of KinPri?
>Hishida: It's Phenichi for Kakeru. In my mind pair friends are like a cat that snuggles up to a lonely child in bed at night. So the character who don't have pair friends are already fulfilled in their hearts. Even though he's a street artist like them, they don't come to Kazuki because he has OTR. Kakeru has a tough job, I feel sorry for him.
>I'm glad Phenichi came to Kakeru! And Shin who gets caught in am explosion in the battle and is sent 100 years into the future meets with an emissary of the Prism World, Ai. How did you think up this scene?
>Hishida: It was to show that Shin has wavered at all. Over the course of the films through the TV series, the friendship between the seven members of SEPTENTRION has become firmly established. I wanted to show that after all that Shin still believes in everyone, and in order to tell the story going forward, I had to break the bond between the seven of them.

I had been wanting Alec to do the rap for a long time so he would be in Mark Panther's role, and Joji would be in Tetsuya Komuro's role so he wouldn't have to sing as long as he played the keyboard. If I had the chance I wanted them to do a show, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time in this movie.

I was thinking about it because I was wondering if we'd ever learn which country the dorks went to, but given how AiPri handles it I figure the answer is no (knowing the Japanese it's likely England though).

Also, I don't know how the Koreans approach it, but I imagined that if the show were to take in place in Japan, they'd change it to Korea. >Thank you for returning to us after your hardwork in the 22nd century. At the time of this magazine's release, the latest movie KinTour will be in theaters, how do you feel about it?
>Hishida: I was working on it up until the release date, so I didn't have any time to think about how it was going, I'm completely exhausted (laughs). With only three weeks left until the release, about half of the work still has to be done (at the time this article was written), so I hope you can imagine... I still haven't returned from the 22nd century.
>This film brings together not only the stars of KinPri but also all the Pretty Boys, making it truly worthy of being called an all star dream movie. How did they come together?
>Hishida: At the end of the TV anime SSS Shin says "Even if we change, let's hug again in the 22nd century." We couldn't make a sequel until 10 years later. So I decided to have them ride a time machine, which of course something would go wrong with, and I thought they might as well meet some of the other Pretty Boys from the other works because of it. More importantly, 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of PriPara the Movie: Everyone Together! Prism Tours. To be honest, we didn't plan for the 10th anniversary timing, I only realized it after the fact but in a way it was fate (laughs). KinTour must have been a work born under such a star.
>How did you feel about creating a film that brings together all the Pretty Boys?

>Hishida: There are too many characters... there was no point in doing something like this (sarcastic smile). It was really difficult, and I think once every 10 years is the limit... It was so hard that that I didn't want to do it anymore so I told them "Please have someone else take over for the next one in 10 years!" We solicited thoughts from a variety of people, including director and series composer of Pripara Makoto Moriwaki, series composer of Kiratto Prichan Hyoudo Ippo, and director of Waccha Primagi Kosuke Kobayashi. Then around autumn of last year, Moriwaki-san gave me the idea "they're men so why don't they fight?" She helped me alot, those words really helped me. We decided to start fighting from there and created an tremendous amount of 3D in about 6 months. People out there may be under the impression that we've been working on this film for a long time, but that's not true at all, we're really just working on it as under the wire as we can (laughs).
>In the project, we get to see the Prism Shows of the Three Strongest and Ryo Yamada from when they were active for the first time!
>Hishida: Did everyone really want to see this (laughs)? Originally I didn't envision a show for Yamada. But when I asked all the staff whose show they wanted to see, they said "Yamada's", so I decided to make it after all. Daisuke Kato, the original creator of Prism Jumps, gave me the concept of a "commercial style" show, and I asked Ezoe to "put the culmination of your life into this." As a result we found ourselves flying through the air on a deck brush, delivering hearts, and all that in the style of some very popular anime. I could follow it up to the point where the deck brush was used as a microphone stand, but after that it was a series of "is that a reference to what I think it is?" (laughs). Daisuke Namikawa sang so sweetly and it was wonderful.

>Please tell us about the themes, the particular details, and your thoughts on the shows of the Three Strongest, their jumps, and their song selection.
>Hishida: The Three Strongest all sang with intense vocals and so much enthusiasm, it was great. When I was making Alec's show, I made up my mind that if I ever made a 3D show of Kurokawa Rei's, survival dance has to be his theme song. The jumps were all based on ones we had already created with Rainbow Live. For Hijiri's song Get Wild, Otobe-san sent us footage of the shooting athlete who made headlines at the Paris Olympics as well as footage from an opera as image material to reference. When I actually saw the completed show with the helicopters flying and all the explosions, it was amazing (laughs). I think it turned out to be a very stylish show. It's a recreateion of a line from Rainbow Live. But I never expected the shiny vehicle that appeared in Pride the Hero to make such a jump. Jin's Longing Sadness and Strength is so well made I think it might be the most amazing of all of Pretty Seres' 3D shows from Tatsunoko Pro. I felt the accumulation of their knowledge and technology up until this point from it. I told them I wanted it to be ballet-like, with classical and noble elements, but Otobe came up with the idea of using an alter ego and Kyogoku-san, who's the directer of the Prism Shows, came up with the idea for his Prism Act. It turned out to be a truly incredible experience.
>Once again, the song selection is superb.
>Hishida: I agree. I thought survival dance would be okay because it's a song by trf that we've covered before, but I was worried if we could get the permission to cover Get Wild and Long Sadness and Strength (laughs). All of these song were our first draft ideas from the planning, so I'm glad we got permission.

>Hishida: For SEPTENTRION's new song, the instructions were that I wanted the older and younger members to split up into their own formations and that I wanted them to ice skate properly. My feelings with this is that we've finally been able to do the show with the seven of them that I had originally envisioned for them. Skating while dancing is very difficult from a technical standpoint. The technology has finally caught up with what I wanted to do.
>In the previous KinDra, Dramatic LOVE was turned into 3DCG, to much excitement from the fans, but this time the song was presented in a more powerful form. What's the backstory behind that decision? Also please tell us the behind-the-scenes story of the jump Everyone's First Splash.
>Hishida: I had a feeling somewhere in my mind that KinDra might be my last chance with KinPri, so I included Dramatic LOVE in it so that I wouldn't have any regrets. There were a lot of factors that led to us including the song this time, but what's memorable this time is not my feelings on why we added it but with the difficulties I had with the jumps. The jump in Dramatic LOVE will be their first jump. In fact, I was planning a storyboard for a jump for it in KinDra as well but it ended up being shelved. I thought "this time, let's make it." But it just didn't feel right to me... Someone's first jump is a once in a lifetime event. So I asked Kato to rethink it over and over again, and finally it came to this shape.

>Hishida: As for OTR, we did not really plan on creating a whole new 3D show for them. And yet here they are wearing new coords and playing the drums with new animation... For You Sports Festival, Kato's original idea was so interesting I adopted it as is. In their Prism Jump from the previous work, they finally got to live together as couples, so to strengthen the sparkle in the hearts, we had them go back to their adolescent youth, and do lots of ~tunku, which is the next step after ~kyun. I think this is the first film in the world you can hear the sound ~tunku vocalized (laughs).
>We will also ask about the weekly routes. Please tell us the reason for choosing each of these routes and their themes.
>Hishida: The final details were finalized around April 2025. When I asked everyone "what should we do for route 4?" no one said anything!!! (bitter laugh). There were so many songs that I wanted to include, so it was quite difficult to narrow them down. If I had tried to show all the characters and shows that I wanted, there wouldn't have been enough time at all. We all thought about it until the very last moment and decided on this content. The girls from Rainbow Live are the central heart of this story, so I wanted to include them somewhere, but I didn't think it could be the first week, so I made it the third one. If that were the case, then I'd like to have OTR there as well to share their connection with Rainbow Live. Luckily, there was a line from a scene in Flavor that didn't get subtitles at the time, so I thought it would be a good idea to show it with recorded lines this time and so I brought it to route 1. I'm sure everyone will want to see the Prism King Cup again in Route 2. Because everyone expects something a bit unique for Route 4, I brought back the flavor of Pretty Rhythm, which is the original series.

While I was writing the script, the commercial jingle from a certain retirement agency's ad kept playing in my head... >Why did Louis Joji and Alec form the group TRI-UMviratuS?
>Hishida: I wanted Louis to sing a new song and I thought "if we make a sequel it'll be a little easier if we make a song with the 3 of them" so I had them form a unit. Louis singing while Alec raps was one of the things I've always wanted to do so I'm glad we were able to do it without any regrets.

>Hishida: At first, Kato came up with the ideas for the jumps using the names of items that appear in the original works the characters are from, and jumps featuring animals that are motifs of the characters, but of course we couldn't use them (bitter laugh). After much thought and consideration, I thought the line "I'll hug you in a Prism Show!!" might work and from there we expanded on the idea to create the current jump Love & Peace (TL note: I don't follow Shounen Jump stuff but I think Love & Piece is something they do for One Piece, I just know that this name is for sure a One Piece reference). I even sacrificed to sleep to think about it (sarcastic smile). The concept is "let's all come together" while also expressing our gratitude to a certain work that supported us. In the end, I think it was a fantastic jump.

Hibiki Wataru's hair is half blue, but I wonder if that's meant to be Shin's color. Like before, Matsuura replied "no way!". I too am troubled by the mystery.
