The grandma basically almost gets bent over in public by a giant black bull that is head to toe in muscles and a fundoshi. There's also a gym teacher who begins the process of blackmailing a student posting photos online and a teacher who needs money for her mom.

Obviously neither dude does anything but get their ass kicked but it's pretty clear Tatsu is well aware of how to write those stories if he wanted to

Western culture is all about liberated women being sluts, chaste maidens being raped makes westerners complain about the chaste part more than the rape.

I don't think so desu, it's a pretty unique anime. It is no Evangelion, but it's like FLCL got a longer run, so its wackiness and paranormal theme get the viewers to watch it.

Whenever it's over it will also be a to recomended among the yokai genre

>JJK
not a bad show, but generic shonen MC and not so uncommon plot, with power levels, factions and everything. It's your standard shonen with a coat of magic
>or SnK
I still see people talking about it. SnK was a good anime, but it was also a Sakugafest, very edgy and took itself extremely seriously.

Dandadan is really its own thing and is not afraid to subvert expectations or be random, that kind of energy will be remembered later on
Anonymous No.280393223 >>280393452
>>280393021
I dont think FLCL is a good comparison. FLCL was carried for decades by millenials as a pivotal piece of cult anime from their childhood that was considered groundbreaking both for its story and frenetic energy as much as for its complete scarcity. It had one poignant season and disappeared from the TV landscape for so long almost like lost media. Before adult swim fucked it up by forcing sequels, FLCL had an almost mythical status to fans in the US.

Dandadan by contrast is very fun and energetic in the same way but far too much a part of the normalized anime landscape now. Anyone who hears of it can watch it or read it instantaneously. It's also a little too grounded to be seen the same way as FLCL. As we get more season of the anime people will realize that it has more in common with traditional battle shonen than it does with weird original series like FLCL or Sonny Boy or Ping Pong. People will still talk about it but I think they'll talk about it like Black Clover or Naruto. They'll dissect the different arcs and talk about which characters married which, but they won't talk about it like it revolutionized anything.

it knows when to be serious for sure, but then it goes back to the ol' DanDaDan fun. Some Sakuga here and there it's nice, when Sakuga is MOSTLY what your anime is being watched for because "muh epic animation" then it easily fades away aside from some YT clips. I think this manga does have more than Sakuga to offer

I worded it uncorrectly, you're right. I didn't mean that DDD is as crazy as FLCL (or got any of those epic songs during episodes), of course having a longer run the wackiness is less prominent and it's also less original since it is serialized, but among other animes from the mainstream DDD caputers that kind of energy the best, starting from the "unusual" romance between the two protags.
>As we get more season of the anime people will realize that it has more in common with traditional battle shonen than it does with weird original series like FLCL or Sonny Boy or Ping Pong
I think that's also due to pressure from the industry and Tatsu himself not knowing what to do with the story. When you have to write a series without any kind of pauses, OG ideas will have less time to arise, that's why I think it'd be beneficial if Tatsu took another break to think where he wants to head the story. Still, I think the series being a little out of the ordinary and genuinely fun will make for a pleasant rewatch in the future. Ironically, having it representing the mainstream anime landscape of the 2020s will make it iconic when nostalgia for these years comes in the future

Yeah, it'll definitely be remembered as one of the better series of its time coming off the heels of the JJK/MHA era of early anime streaming shows. Not even sure what its contemporaries are considered right now.. Cosplay Darling and SpyXFamily and the resurgence of One Piece?

Every one of the kids is clearly a virgin with MAYBE the exception of Zuma. They all blush and barely express themselves to the opposite sex. I'd be shocked if Tatsu actually imagined the main cast was a mix of virgins and sexually active teens.

Even Zuma would probably be the kind of dude to really only have loving sex with one of the broken girls he's helped reclaim their sense of dignity and self-respect.

things in Japan aren't like in the West. HS youth is more prudish than here and sex is something rare during those years, rare compared to the Europe or US at least where tv and media bombard younger generations about sex since they're kids, one way or the other. You can see this difference in adult media as well: US adult cartoons always mention sex, Jap is more subtle about it and deals with other topics, if they do deal with sex, it's either a gimmick or something Freudian.

I see more chavs instead. More laid back looks. And maybe the odd femboy but they've disappeared the last few months for some reason (according to a younger sister, gay bashing is now a common thing for youths - this is what happens when you force agenda through schooling systems, teens grow up to HATE that shit).

Some zoomers are roidpigs, but that's usually hand in hand with wanting to be seen as overly bulky. Most zoomers seem to prefer to use clothing as their identity and don't seem to put much stock into being anything but lean and skinny. Like, basically every subculture in the zoomer generation fetishes being a super skinny lanky guy- sadboys, hip hop fans, preps. even the zoomer athletes that go pro in the NBA end up being undersized guards who just want to run and jump and shoot first.

zoomies who roid out end up being more on the right politically and usually look up to other grind culture right wing grifters so they don't give a shit if someone calls them out for being juiced

Regardless, earrings are always queer no matter the ear. That use to be why teens used to do it. Being a bit fluid was cool for a long time. I guess nowadays they assume this isn't the case which is kinda funny because it's not true at all and people subconsciously see the rings and think "pretty" in an effeminate way.

Pretty sure this is an unintentional reaction to the fact that so many biracial kids would get normal haircuts and their fro-curls kept them from having normal haircuts. Then that leaked into the sports world because soccer and basketball is full of lightskin biracial kids who made the broccoli cut cool and then it trickled back around to the kids who don't have any curls and so you had/have tons of stupid fucking pure white suburbanites trying to look black subconsciously and getting perms. Nah we used to all straighten it dude.
Indians, Hispanics and Chinese people have straighter hair than Euros too.

It just became a thing because it was different. I used to either straighten or shave my hair to avoid the fro. Only for a short period did I embrace it, to metal hair length (it's poofy wavy hair, not an afro - so it's even rarer than straight hair).
