I'm in the middle of an annual rewatch of the show. It almost feels like an anime made specifically for my tastes what with the use of musical motifs, the dry comedy that doesn't get too much focus, and the more realistic character designs that stay pretty consistent aside from facial expressions and never turn into chibis.
The currently airing Ame to Kimi to is giving me pretty similar vibes but it's just one episode out. Hope its quality stays pretty consistent.
