For the rest, the old visual novel trope from the 90's is a girl will come along into my boring life and then I'll be on my way to my new and exciting life. Most of how NHK is structured, it's a 'no way that'd work out the way you think it would' subversion of that trope.
Even granted exceptional circumstances, Satou is Satou, and the other big thing behind NHK is what sort of girl really would obsess over a nobody. It wouldn't be the perfect angel's you see in a VN either.
