It's better than Red Hood. The pacing is decent, it feels like things are happening. It didn't spend an entire volume in the starting area, and another in a bad training arc. This is the problem with Samura's whole backstory.
Hokazono has zero parenting experience and he was growing during the era of tiktok, fortnite, covid lockdown and reading shit like JJK.
He is emotionally stilted and as the most zoomers more or less soulless.
Thats why his characters has zero proper casual interaction and talk like a robots.
Sometimes it works when the character fits that (sociopaths like Sojo or Kyora), but when it comes to emotional characters those interactions and relationships sound fake as fuck.
Thats why its impossible to buy into Samura and Iori's story if you arent soulless zoomer yourself.
