Outside of rare passion projects like OddTaxi or that Virgin Punk thing, anime is primarily about promoting waifu figurines and boosting tankobon sales. These isekaislop are cheap as hell to make and usually have one or two good waifus to milk like that squirrel slut or so on. Meanwhile good series are generally waste of money to produce, let’s be real here.
