Do you guys actually enjoy anime? Like, is watching it a "good time" for you? Because it's just so boring for me, I can't get into it.

A good time for me is doing cocaine or ecstasy and blasting music, or tripping with some friends and going to a national park or something. It is just so excruciatingly dull for me to listen to characters talk, fight scenes, and "follow the plot".

I dunno, maybe anime just isn't for me, but I'm just amazed that some of you guys can sit there and "binge" series for hours and have a good time. Anime literally makes me fall asleep. It's just not fun for me and I'm flabbergasted that there are millions of real people out there that get excited about watching anime.

OP’s screencap is roughly just before the point anime stopped being entertaining on average. There were a handful of great shows afterwards but they became increasingly rare and stopped almost entirely 8-10 years ago. Competency crisis, it’s a worldwide phenomena not impacting just the West.
