Lelouch got careless. Mao as a character exists specifically to show that geass can go out of control but Lelouch didn't heed this warning. If he did he'd be more careful about what he says around people just in case what happens to Mao happens to him without him realizing it. From a more thematic point of view, it was said that Geass is the power of the king that condemns you to a life of solitude. The point he was making is that his power is so strong, he can make people do things that go against everything they believe. Since Euphemia wants peace and prosperity for the elevens, the example he used was exterminating them, the polar opposite of that goal, as a demonstration of how wicked his power can be when twisting people. It's a pretty logical example to give, he could have said "hate the Japanese" instead but it's pretty much the same end result of causing the special zone to fail, this one was just more dramatic for the show. It's still perfectly in character for Lelouch, his mistake was mostly in even discussing orders with Euphemia, not the specifics of what order he gave. He dropped the zero mask and it cost him

yeah it's really weird. The moons honesttly feel like they got weaker and weaker over time. I guess it was trying to be like "the strength and determination of humans will over take evil", but isn't the danger supposed to ramp up to the climax? lower moon spider boy was a whole thing on his own that nearly took out all three of our main characters till tapioka san came in. Upper moon 6 was a huge danger that single handedly made one of the strongest hashira retire and again nearly killed everyone. Upper moon 5? (i think it's the vase dude but I mix it up with 4) is killed like almost immediately and the scariest part is that he turns things into fish, which is like idk? Upper moon 4 (again I'm thinking scared one might have mixed them up) is a hassle, but god they were uncoordinated and all it took was tanjiro's sense of smell to win easily with barely any issues (mind you both 4 and 5 fought at the same time so it's even more rushed). 3 was retarded cause he just was good at fighting, the only thing was that he resisted death but still failed. 2 was pretty scary. 1 was kinda a joke. and the big bad literally turned into a giant fucking baby. (and all of these were fought in quick succession). Not even mentioning the fact that the other lower moons got killed off (besides the train guy) immediately which was a let down. I guess the author was just bored of the manga and wanted to move on?

I don't think it was his dad specifically, but his family has carried down the sun breathing style to dance for generations since a passing samurai who I think was the guy muzan was scared of taught his ancestor the style. I can't remember if that's exactly how it happened. There's also a theory that the explanation for why they had such a unique lineage and ability to handle sun breathing and survive in the sun was because their family lived next to a patch of the blue spider lilies which were said to grant demons the power to resist the sun and was what muzan was looking for.

I don’t know about the Moons getting weaker. Pretty much all of them died because they fucked around too much instead of just ending things.
Jar guy literally had Mist Hashira strung up and could have killed him at any moment but played around too much which gave him a chance to break free and unlock his Demon Slayer Mark or whatever.
4 was kind of all over the place but it still took multiple people to take him down and again he had them dead to rights several times but his split personalities played around too much.
Akaza kind of just gave up near the end.
Doma was weakened by poison but again his victory should have been an easy slam dunk even with that but he was toying with his opponents.
Kokushibo was the only one that put in work and was aiming to kill from the start. Gyomei and Sanemi were just the two strongest Hashira by far and refused to go down, and they were also being assisted by Genya and Mist. And in the end he could have kept fighting but just gave up like Akaza.
If it had been purely 1v1 situations and the Moons didn’t fuck around, they would have killed the Demon Slayers 9/10 times.

They introduced the concept of the gods and Sun God, the people worshipped the sun god, a man claiming to be God was about to destroy everything and Luffy showed up and fought him, everyone was praying for God to save them, and he literally cleared up the darkness and brought the light out with a giant golden ball (sun metaphor) on his hand before striking down the false god and ringing the bell which was "the light of Shandoria". He just made Nika to fit with some loosely established background in order to give Luffy a cool power up. With a 1k long manga, you can find connection to anything you want.
I am not even saying it was a bad writing since it was a fun power up to beat Kaito, but it was obvious that Oda didn't plan Luffy to have been choosen by Nika fruit from the start of the series.
The only other power up from a popular series that was more bullshit is Bleach.

Alluka/Nanika is a crazy asspull and she fucks up the entire consistency and balance of the power system.
That being said, narratively she was badly needed as a character. Killua and Gon's relationship was way too intense and codependent at that moment, introducing a new character that could alleviate it by making Killua had someone else to care about was a relief.
So I'm not even mad about it.
