I disagree. I think it's 95-5 in favor of Kaido.
We don't know how tough Blackbeard is in a proper brawl. Seems like he's durable but we never really saw him trade blows properly so we have no metric to go by to establish how he fights when he goes all out.
So far he relies on jumping the enemy with his crew ganging up and using fruit powers to essentially to crits. But we haven't seen him to anything even close to what Luffy goes through when he fights. Luffy's fights are usually one of total brawling to the point of exhaustion. We never saw BB do anything similar.
On top of that the only way Luffy could even come close to defeating Kaido is awakening the nika fruit, which is essentially a cheat code almost.

In conclusion we need to see BB fight 1on1 and a proper brawl.

When I said Teach is a one-hitter, what I meant is that Teach only needs a one good hit to control the fight. This is a recurring pattern in Teach's fights, his opponents are losing composure once Teach landed a good hit. Suddenly, his opponents are not so smug anymore.

This is the opposite of Luffy where he is never in control of most of the big fights, even when he lands a good hit. Luffy's opponents only lose composure once they realized Luffy has an incredibly exceptional endurance. Even then, Luffy still needs to close the fight with a powerful attack that risks his life.

It's so bizarre that we're on the 1,154th chapter of this epic of a story and people still believe Blackbeard is a coward and not simply a performative opportunist. He plays weak to get further ahead, he takes blows that would one-shot named characters straight to the face and pretends to be injured so his enemies convince themselves they have the upper-hand. He looks for the most minute of chinks in the opponent's armor and forces the barrel of his gun to fire straight through them. Any and all moments where he's been shown to be "cowardly" are also moments where he was vaguely injured and allowed his opponents to use every single trick they had up their sleeves while he barely used his most basic abilities. There's some unfathomable depth to Blackbeard as a genuine threat in the setting, but we haven't seen it yet, and we're not going to see it until he's pressed against something that actually demands it.

He says before throwing the foolish saint crashing into another wall. Before him was the crumbled room of authority, the Five Elders sitting in silence as he stomped near, peering down at them. "I take it you lot have the same tricks up your sleeves as those uniformed churls from before? Good thing I know just how to crunch you up right, or even I might have been a bit disappointed!

The Elders said nothing, merely replying with wary and stoic silence. But deep down, they knew this was the worst situation they could have been dealt as a hand by fate. Akainu was dead, and the Marines had fallen. The Holy Land was burning. The Beast Pirates were torching their immaculate paradise and slaughtering their people. It was like a parodic reverse of the competition at God Valley. The governor of the Beasts leveled his Kanabo at them. "So, which grandpa am I giving a funeral first? Is it you, dreadlocks?! Or you, samurai?! WORORORO! I don't mind who goes first. All of you are dying here anyway... and then, I'm gonna have a nice seat... ON THE EMPTY THRONE!"

"What do you hope to accomplish from this barbarity, Kaidou?"

"...Is that truly all you could conceive of? You become the Pirate King... you become the World King... You find the One Piece. Maybe you destroy that too. Maybe you destroy yourself when you've proven none else can. You are pointless, Kaidou." Marcus Mars said; "That's why you will not win here against us. You die here, and then we fix your mistakes. We create to replace all you've destroyed."

Kaido fell silent, his gaze never once leaving their own hardened stares as they stood from their comfortable couch. The Elders looked at the Yonko like how a predator would see prey. Truly, they resented him. For undoing almost everything they worked for. For jeopardizing the situation of the World Government. For making it almost unsalvageable and putting so much paperwork on their plates.

"You do not have the qualities of a ruler." Saturn coldly pointed out.

His kanabo suddenly sparked with immense Conqueror's Haki. The force of it was so great the Elders all winced. Such potent Haki... So this was what had undone the God's Knights. Warcury growled; "How did you-?!"

That was Kaido's quality. That was why he was a king. A barbaric king. His Conqueror's was the most advanced they'd ever known. The pure ambition to crush things. The joviality of unmaking anyone who'd tell him "No". Anyone who'd tell him otherwise... It rivaled Joy Boy. And in that instant, they all felt it again.

Fear.

"Right now... the truth is looking you in the eye." Kaido said, taking his kanabo in both hands. "The truth is, you're all going to DIE."

And then he swung...

...The Elders were no more.

It was just Kaido now. Kaido, and one last victim sitting on his throne.

I said they fight the same in terms of relying on "trial and error" because of their ENDURANCE (due to luck, plot armor, etc). It may not look like it because Luffy has a high pain tolerance while the goofy Blackbeard has a low pain tolerance (thus the misconception that Teach is a coward), make no mistake, Blackbeard has a high endurance as well. Luffy and Teach are the only few characters on this series who rely too much on endurance/luck.

HOWEVER, Blackbeard doesn't fight like Luffy anymore once he controls the fight, because he is already past the trial and error mode. He already got into the head of his enemy.

Kaido's is strong all around but his biggest advantage is his toughness. Zoro literally outclassed him in everything but toughness when you rewatch the fight and realize Zoro was faster than him and overpowered his club and deflected or cut all his moves. But Zoro could only scar him at best, at least pre king of Hell.

Point being if you take away Kaido's toughness which Yami Yami can turn off his zoan powers (it worked on Luffy who is a mythical zoan too) then he's just a strong dude, not the world's strongest.

Given BB was able to get the jump on Shanks before even having the yami yami or gura gura and now it amplifies his damage through a zoanless Kaido, I say they kill eachother.

I think the story is adding up to the treasure of Elbaph being the nika fruit.
Rocks was there to obtain it, since he knew of its importance, but something plot relevant is going to prevent him from obtaining it.
It is likely the god valley thing is in a similar vein, him pursuing either a fruit power or some key piece of lore to advance the plot.

I think Rocks pursuing the nika fruit (and possibly the darkness fruit) later on gave the rest of the people adjacent to him ideas on what to do to continue the main story. Roger learned about this and then through him Shanks went after the nika fruit. Whitebeard's crew and through them Blackbeard got the darkness fruit etc...
Basically parallel threads that all originate from Rocks finding out about the key powers/items that hold the keys to solving the setting.

That's kind of the problem. Mihawk's personality is all over the place. At the start of the manga he's bloodthirsty like his title would suggest, but later on he talks about how he wants to be left alone, and he looked silly in Marineford when Vista stalled him and then he said some bullshit about not wanting to fight Shanks. World's Strongest Swordsman is a very silly title in One Piece the more you think about it.
