>died on his own terms instead of in Yang's cuck dungeon.

Reuenthal deserved better
Reinhard placing the corrupt officials back into position and his loyal men taking the brunt for it was the greatest injustice

Reinhard is a soldier, and you can't possibly govern a civilian administration without people that know the system. Otherwise, you're setting up yourself for failure and chaos.

He had this very capable man Oberstein to handle these affairs who advised not to use Lang and Truniht

I found the particular way he died to be a bit too contrived, but the same could be said of almost all the character's deaths in the show except Oberstein.

Things were foreshadowed really early so if you think it's contrived you have to think it's contrived in the long running setup sense.

I'm talking about how a piece of ship broke off and pierced him in a fatal way. Or Reinhard's mysterious illness. Yang's is fine and foreshadowed well but having him affected by sleeping pills was maybe unnecessary.

Oberstein not only had his plate full with other tasks in the Admiralty, but he wasn't a civilian either. That detail is key to understand why Lang stayed for so long. As much as a dyed-in-the-wool Goldenbaum loyalist he might've been, Lang knew how to manage the Empire.
The same logic applied for Trunhiht in regards to Neue Land, but he was way too ambitious for his own good to be of any long-term utility for Reinhard.

I think I remember others but there was Elfriede von Kohlrausch.

>Lichtenlade exile
>returns to assassinate Ruenthal for revenge
>Ruenthal being Ruenthal is turned on by a new woman trying to kill him.
>He more or less keeps her as a secret prisoner/houseguest in his mansion. She can't leave and has no where to go.
>The fugg even though she hates him. It's implied shes doing it to keep him from turning her in.
>She gets pregnant
>She dumps the baby on him and runs off while hes waiting for Mittermeyer to show up after the battle.
>Mittermeyer ends up adopting the baby
