>Anime
>Madoka Magica and the Rebellion movie
Genuinely didn't expect it to be half as good as it was, i had 0 desire to watch any Magic girl anime but i heard it was good and that it was a lesser known gem like Steins;Gate so i gave it a watch. The ending made me cry like a bitch and Homura did nothing wrong. 8.5/10
>Manga
>Goodnight PunPun
Genuinely the most overrated manga I've ever fucking read, I'm 70 chapter's into it and I've never seen a more aimless story. Watching shitty people be shitty and fuck themselves over without rhyme or reason, over and over again, is beyond excruciating. The Uncle and PunPun's two childhood friends are cool but everyone else is so fucking shit. Every scene with God reminds me of the worst mysteries of JoJolion. I'll probably finish it but only out of the sunken cost at this point, at least i heard PunPun kills someone at some point so that could be interesting i guess

if you just mean episode, Panty & stocking season 2 ep 1
if you mean the last anime I finished, Wolfs Rain. Funny thing was I happened to replay .Hack//GU just before finishing it and noticed a reference to it in the in-game BBS that had gone over my head before.

the last manga I read was going through the Hellstar Remina storytime archive for a reread. Before that it was Magu-Chan God of Destrustion. I've had Hinamatsuri sitting in a tab for a while just waiting for the mood to hit me to binge the whole manga in one sitting

It's one of those anime that's more about the atmosphere than the overarching plot but overall I enjoyed it. I started off just watching an ep or three once a week then marathoned the entire second half

Just beware the back-to-back recap episodes in the middle and make sure you have the OVA episodes that contain the conclusion to the story.

nope
Either rona fucked up production to a massive degree or Butcher decided to throw out the entire thing and rewrite it from scratch like what happened with Rebuild 3.0

Hasn't been the case in forever now. But on the topic of magical girls, I just decided to finally watch one of the big classics start to finish.

>Anime
>Sailor Moon(90s Original to Stars, movies included)
Came in for the 90s anime shenanigans, stayed because it delivered exactly that. Quality can vary wildly between seasons, but I thought that the concept overall is always cool, the girls are cute, animation is acceptable(but notably dated) and yeah it deserved its popularity. Really like the humor and all the whimsical stuff, each episode promises to be entertaining. It has a lot of filler but it's not a real issue when the filler in question is sovlful as fuck.

Usagi is best girl of her own show, her character carried the fuck out of the entire thing because she is fucking CUTE and absolutely RETARDED. The other girls are all fine, some cute side characters as well. Villains are generally interesting aside from SuperS, shout outs to the Black Moon Clan.
On the other hand, the daughter from the future is a Scrappy-Doo-tier character here, giving her an entire season literally killed this anime before, and for good reasons. Annoying mix of coming across as an unlikeable brat most of the time, and the writers shoving her in your face for an entire season but without doing anything more interesting than her R's Black Lady transformation.

Other than Chibiusa and SuperS, my only other major complaint is about the fights. There are a very large amount of them, pretty much one in each episode, yet 90% of them are just really dry, unspectacular, boring, repetitive, feels like a waste of some nice monster designs. The 10% is only okay at best, mostly covers boss fights or that one mook who ends up having a better sequence than everyone else. Don't watch this expecting enjoyable combat, it's not the appeal.

Haven't read in a long while. So I decided to focus my post on the anime instead.

Can agree with Chibiusa being a massive waste of space but...
>Black Lady
Worth it. Never seen more blatant corruption fetish fuel.

Lol. Dark MGs are just a cool archetype so I loved R for both Ayakashi sisters and Black Lady.
Galaxia&Animamates didn't quite scratch the same itch unfortunately.

>Anime
Scrapped Princess. It's now one of my all time favorites. A stupidly ambitious show. Fantasy adventure, slice of life comedy, mecha, psychological horror story, conceptual science fiction piece, romance, standard light novel adaptation, extended debate about free will.
>Manga
GITS parts 1 + 1.5. So much more weird and interesting than SAC, and Motoko is hotter too. I read a paper version with lots of Shirow's commentary - worth buying.
