For a shonen protagonist, it's kind of underwhelming that Yaiba only won his last 2 fights after getting thoroughly beaten because someone else distracted his enemy for Yaiba to use his finishing move.

I does for me. I think I'd be enjoying it anyway, since it's also a fun show and I love protagonists like Yaiba. But bad, ugly animation really dampens my enjoyment and it's become hard to avoid. So a show I can trust to look consistently good is extremely refreshing.
