I think it's an oversaturated market so it's going to have a major contraction. Probably soon.
I think there's going to be a miniature economic collapse in the industry because it's just designed fucked up at present time.
But I think it'll ultimately recover, and shows will never really stop being produced altogether.

As people said - anime as this massive megaindustry will die either via economic collapse of the market or CRoll/Netflix succeeding in watering down the term into irrelevancy. But the niche, artistic side of anime will stay alive. Especially nowadays with modern tools and distribution channels, it's pretty easy for small artists to release their shit to the public.
