I've been reading Gash 2 recently and I feel distraught that I am already about to be caught up. Only got 9 chapters to go.... I hate monthly releases, I don't wanna be caught up yet, bros... The past week of reading 2-3 chapters a day has been fantastic, I don't want it to end.

That's not an unpopular opinion. Barry is literally the man who can strike the king with his best friend being the last kaiser of Russia. Brago is just an oversized freak with a cuckqueen handler.
>>280545630 >aruterego
I know we've been living with tons of essentially untranslated stuff like rashirudo for awhile but not using alterego when it's so obviously right there bugs me
>>280545630
So this seems to imply that they recognize some powerful spells, meaning they must have gotten decently far in the original battle for king?
Maybe if only Jil recognized them, but since Luna seems to as well it implies that she's used it before?

Cool page. Thanks for dumping. Interesting chapter, I was ready for getting back to action after last chapter, but I guess Raiku wanted to take things slow for a bit longer, and needed to answer some more questions, this time regarding the mummies. Elleby's gonna make it, but I think Cuffey's gonna bite it soon.

I hope they can use this spell to make bodies for all those people who are being controlled by Beliel against their will and free them for good, like the butterfly girl and the animal girl.
I think this chapter sort of shows the flaws of monthly releases to this kind of story.
It just feels like any new character introduced has to have a super sped up introduction and this chapter was trying to introduce four new characters. Meanwhile characters that existed in the original series already have their traits/personalities built up already so rushed re-introductions don't feel as bad.
Not that I want stuff to be stretched out necessarily, but I feel like the introduction to the new Cards/enemies-who-claim-to-be-allies here should have been done over the course of multiple chapters where it's ambiguous what their actual motives are as we see them tag along while other fights or plot threads are going on.

Zellie's intro was handled fine in chapter 1.

The Clear angle makes sense because Asheron knows her too, but that means she probably got taken out by Gorm at Clear's request. Can't rule out her just getting smoked by Zeon or Brago though.
>>280546997 >I'm wondering how she got so far to begin with. Dolls don't seem that powerful.
we still yet to see what did alterego can do, remember that momon got far by not fighting
>>280545896
Leaving the spells as-is is completely fine and lends to its otherworldly nature. Localizing some spells but not localizing others is just a terrible idea.
>>280546997
Granted they both had plenty of help from Allies, but all of Kanchomeβs spells are just distractions and his most used spell after he got it was just making some extra copies of himself. I imagine Raiku has plans in mind for her if he went to the extra length of making a brand new demon with unconventional powers.
>>280545896
Apparently they didn't because spells have some kind of naming consistency and it might break the spell language? idfk I don't see any part of that spell written in here

I don't even think it's a monthly pace problem, it's an editing and modern manga problem. Authors fear that manga readers don't have the attention span to enjoy longer arcs for character introductions anymore. So all of the intros are being blitzed through like a checklist and Raiku not having an editor makes it so the pacing/execution is clunkier than Gash 1. At the very least I'm glad Raiku's managed to keep the hype in but it's been multiple volumes now and I don't think a single character moment has hit as hard as any from the original series yet. The stakes are higher but yet I feel less invested in the plot and attached to the characters - the work is still coasting on a being a rare sequel that actually introduces a new plot and changes the status quo but that's about it.

Do you think that if it were released as a completed work it would go better than the monthly release? More time could be spent on certain elements because you don't have to squeeze it into a monthly release and not having to worry about the audience forgetting because it's been a month in real time
Interesting chapter. I like the idea of getting to see demons we missed out on in the original series, and it's a nice touch that the Jilnoz has insider jokes with her book owner. The new cards are a missed opportunity though, could have had an interesting problem to chew on if they weren't immediately trustworthy to everyone. I'm still not sure I buy their story. Beliel can't destroy their hearts because he can't see them because...rope magic?
As everyone has said, pseudo-monthly pace is too slow. Really feels like this story needs a biweekly schedule to meet the sweet spot of pacing and quality. There is way too much story to tell with only 10 chapters per year. I'd be totally fine with shorter chapters that give us more worldbuilding and mundane stuff.

I assume her strategy was to use numbers game with the dolls. Like if each if her spells are independently functioning that could overwhelm some of the more Brick tier Demons.
>>280545542
I feel like we should start doing polls when new demons get name dropped on what their design is going to be because I was not expecting this
>>280545896 >>280546742
The katakana for it actually a-ru-te-re-go/γ’γ«γγ¬γ΄ while alter ego would be a-ru-taa e-go/γ’γ«γΏγΌγ¨γ΄. Obviously, it is alluding to alter ego as a spell name, but translating as such would be inaccurate.

I don't think a faster release schedule or volume-by-volume schedule would help. I follow monthly manga regularly and even if there are hiatuses or only 10 chapters a year, it's fine as long as the pacing of the overall story flows well. Dungeon Meshi was only 10 chapters a year since that's how Harta's release schedule works and it was always a joy to read monthly. Similarly I don't have any issue keeping up with even a dense work like Heavenly Delusion where there are multiple plot threads and minor characters to keep track of.
Well that explains the mummy supply being solved but there's still the issue of there being a finite source of stone books to bring to life. Wait don't fucking tell me they're going to look for a descendant of that fucker that turned 40 demons and their books to stone tablets.
>>280547090
Wait, these guys are from a previous selection? I thought they were just randoms and resurrected demons. Not the Millennium Mamodo arc again. >>280557199
We clearly need some ally for added tension when they get inevitably killed by a stronger fighter for their betrayal.
>>280545703
Isn't her ability way too convenient?
Feels like the author will let her use it this one time before the author kills her or disables her for the rest of the series only for her to come back and revive everyone after the final boss is defeated.
>>280564526
I think the implication is that she wasn't stung, otherwise they would've brought up the poison.
I think see the scorpion on her just brought her into shock, causing her body to tense up like that.
i didn't noticed until reading it for a second time that cuffey and elleby are based on tarousa and riemu from animal land (doubutsu no kuni), even the way cuffey healed camilla is similar to how tarouza can enter other's mind and feel as well.
>>280579868
at first i thought raiku just liked to add some references here and there to doubutsu no kuni, like by example with the character of gill with giller giller giller, but it's seems more complex now that we knows of cuffey and elleby
