I really like when monsters get a little more time to react like this to annihilation. The FC finale duel has one of the best ending turns ever for Yugioh anime, from the moment Yusei looks back at Jack to the presentation of all the effects and attack. Kenichi Hara was a top tier Yugioh AD back in the day pouring in his best work and years of experience to make his 5D's episodes and characters look as polished as possible on their budget

The bulk of Jack and Yusei's rivalry pretty much ended at the end of Fortune Cup but I appreciated how they contrasted in design and how Jack's motivations as a selfish asshole felt more grounded and closer to home compared to Kaiba's template. Being poor and desperately bitter about what he was handed in life and then all of that catching up to him a few years later as his punishment

He does but I made my peace with it because I only became even more numbed to anime writers stretching characters like laffy taffy when they're in a bind for winging ideas, any ideas. Getting one last well animated duel at the end is more than some others
