>>280548594>>280538597 I would say that the very definition you have there is pretty much on point with what's being said to you. And that's discounting using a dictionary poorly to try to make an argument.
In the hypothetical that a person "gets into your house to steal" said person objective is not to harm you specifically; you are not the objective; he is not opposed to you as a person but seeking satisfaction or gain. It's the same in general.
Said person steals from you, gets stopped or not, do you dedicate your life to that person? Is he your enemy now? Why? Is your life better if you cause him harm?
I think it speaks of inexperience with life to confuse having two opposed goals with being an enemy.
In the context of the manga this is world that very often sees war, and therefore is probably filled with propaganda and people that will skin alive somebody because they came from "X" place or "Y", in fact that's ASkeladd whole theme, that's what Thorfinn does as a child; dedicate himself to somebody (or several somebodies') out of hate and to their own demerit; the objective is to cause harm to somebody else despite the fact that it does you no good, other than momentary satisfaction, if that.
I don't think I need to go deeper into this, it really is a waste of time. If you get it, that's great, if you don't, unironically you might at some point, or maybe you will die thinking about how much hate somebody. That's not for me to worry about.
