I did some pretty decent work writing while studying for my degree and working, managed to finish three drafts a novel that came out pretty good if I say so myself. Shortly afterwards I had the chance to NEET it up living alone for about half a year, and took it so I could see if I could spend that time making a new first draft while trying to do something with what I'd already done.

My story idea is a webcomic about a guy failing at wagie-life and becoming a low-level supervillain as a way to stand up to the world. The verse is basically like MHA but only one in ten thousand has any sort of a power and they tend to be on the weaker side. Essentially only a few of them are more dangerous than a gun is the idea.
The first "fight" would be the protag comitting a minor robbery(barely above a limit that makes it an offence punishable by jail time) and has to fight a cop. His powers are turning things into different state of matter. The tougher something is the longer it takes to change it from say solid into liquid. Also it only works on direct skin contact.

I have other ideas but that's what i'd be working on if i had to pick one.
Other characters include a hero Human Cyborg who has a total control over his physiology a bodily functions. Looks like an office worker drone except insanely ripped, unable to act like a person or show emotions but has a wife and a kid whom he loves dearly, sworn protector of the status quo which has granted well-being to the ones he loves. Blisterman who gets progressively stronger, more durable and regenerative the more burns he's got on his body. Was pushed into using his power to speed up progress on the construction site he was assigned to and so quit deciding that if he is to set himself ablaze he'll do it for himself. Never uses his power unless he has to bc that means actually burning for a bit. The gag is that he always tries just like a non-powered robbery with a crowbar/gun and a balaclava but jobs instantly forcing him to flame on. Cheerful guy but when he goes Blisterman he just lets out long strings of howls and curses because it hurts a lot to burn.

It's hard to recall because One seems to forget it sometimes but rank isn't always equal to power even in the S class. Their contributions also factor into their rank. So while someone like King or Metal bat might be considered the strongest fighters, they might not be as active as someone like CE or Bang. In the same sense as PPP being a gay rapist who spends time in prison inbetween job sessions it probably hurts his rank. TTM is like the inverse, where he jobs but he's always on the scene and has a following. Same with metal knight, he might be the most dangerous S class but he never shows up or does any hero work.

People seem to rank up based on their deeds less so their pure power but their power allows them to perform greater deeds.

He was only able to retain his sense of humanity because he focused specifically on killing monsters and protecting humans as a narrow sense of justice - the moment he attempts to justify letting humans be killed in order to protect his identity in the fight with pesky clown, it's implied that doing so would've been the end for him being able to justifiably claim humanity. Yeah but it wasn't because he was killing people. He was bitterly jealous of and disgusted by other heroes, and lashed out indiscriminately against monsters because he believed it separated himself from them and represented a form of justice. He thought of himself as a lost cause and wanted to pass on his ideals to Saitama, or some other ideal hero, because he was worried that one day he would snap - by killing humans, or becoming indifferent to their suffering - and no longer be able to uphold them himself. The point is that he NEVER killed humans, because that's the one thing that he felt differentiated himself. Even the end of the Garou fight makes a major point of this - he was adamant about killing Garou on the spot because to him, he was the ultimate monster, and letting him go free would ruin his conscience. Saitama correctly identifying that Garou had kept his humanity and giving him the will to escape inadvertedly saved Sweet Mask.

I think ethically that's up for anyone to debate, but for Sweet Mask specifically it's an important distinction because he has to hold on to a very binary "monsters = bad and okay to kill, humans = good and bad to kill" outlook, or his mind will literally unravel and he'll monsterize to a point of no return. Treating their lives as forfeit just like that just makes it seems like he doesn't value anyone's lives as long as he gets the job done, which doesn't really line up with the small slither of justice we know he holds onto.

This is the least of Murata Mask's issues, though, since his general narcissism and willingness to kill the other heroes to save his own image is a far larger stumbling block, and he's practically irredeemable at this point. ONE is always careful to make his assholes (excepting Tatsumaki) at least somewhat reasonable in their actions or at least not have them do something truly heinous.
