MC in this series is a glass cannon all the way to the end. That fact doesn't change. He has good attack power but as you saw with the hydra battle one wrong move and he will die.

It’s still the best popular isekai. You can tell the author tried to build an interesting world which is good enough. I’d say Twelve Kingdoms has a cooler world but the author is a woman so story focuses on shitty soap opera nonsense instead of badass war and adventure. Mushoku’s only real competitor (talking about anime) is Re:Zero, but the MC of that series looks unbearable.

Just a specific niche of power fantasy that always does well.
The actual "ooh what if a dickhead was isekai'd" bit was done better by Thomas Covenant like 50 years ago so I don't find it interesting to explore.
