I don't get it. The manga makes clear that the black haired guy always loved Hikaru but he knew deep down it was a one-sided love that would've never materialized. Hikaru dies and is replaced by an immortal cosmic being that perfectly replicates his appearance and is deeply in love with him just as he always wanted. Meaning his ideal love-struck vision of Hikaru has gained flesh and blood while the real one (who would've probably rejected him and called him a weird faggot) is dead. Shouldn't this be an ideal scenario for the black haired guy? I don't get it. Then again I haven't read much of the manga at all.

The cruel twist is "MIGHT'VE shattered", because Hikaru died without that ever being resolved, so Yoshiki and the audience won't ever know if Hikaru felt the same.

What happened to him is a special case so it's unlikely the original Hikaru made it out of the afterlife. I agree on the way he died being really random but the manga hasn't ever touched on it again, so I always assumed it's what the author decided for the setting of the story.
It'd change a lot if he lied about the original Hikaru.
