Not happening just yet, Sumire and Sarada will probably need to have another heart to heart talk first. Sarada hasn’t confessed to Boruto yet but she acknowledged her feelings and that gave her strength in direct contradiction to Sumire’s admonishments; that needs to be addressed between them. Sumire needs to recognize Sarada’s feelings first and then reflect on her own feelings. Right now she’s still on team Boruto.

I agree with this. I like the idea of a new group of protagonists showing up who have to learn about Ninja society, but they're just not interesting or motivating enough to carry the narrative.

If there was a pre-existing Ninja who we were already familiar with as a medium between the Trees and the rest of the Shinobi world, it'd be more interesting. The Shinju themselves don't have enough personality to add momentum and they're so disconnected from the rest of the universe that they feel inadequate as antagonists.

I miss when the villains had personality. I get that they're all learning to have personalities, but this series is already slow as dirt. They can't really afford to include that kind of paced character growth in something this glacial. Characters need to stand out more.
