I think this ought to be Hatsune's main storyline in S3. I can understand why she was so tepid in S2, because she was carrying a lot of baggage and there was a lot of fear on her side due to a variety of factors. However, she's come clean about all that with Sakiko, and she's got a clean slate, so to say. However, Sakiko is still dealing with far more stuff than a 15yo ever should deal with, especially one with all the baggage Sakiko has. When we still had to deal with the Mortis-Mujica vs Guitarsumi-CRYCHIC idiocy after the catharsis of episode 7 and it was clear that, no, we have not closed out that chapter of drama, there was this scene where Saki sat there watching Mutsumi fight with herself in her headspace. Tears started rolling down her face, and I felt that. You could feel her emotional exhaustion.

Old Sakiko would never invite Mutsumi to be apart of something that she knew would put Mutsumi into an uncomfortable position. And you still see old Sakiko leaking through at times. Like making Mutsumi's mask cover more than the rest and asking her if she was really sure about doing Ave Mujica. Deep down inside I bet she wanted Mutsumi to say no.
She didn't set out to be a cunt but she tried to turn herself into a tougher person. But instead ended up a a cunt due to getting wrapped up in her own circumstances.
