>>280607398Yeah, and you can do a lot more than fix errors like that. You can use that technique to add clothing, remove clothing, gen composites of multiple gens, etc.
Inpainting is what separates slopmakers from artists.
The best way to tell if an image is slop or if actual care has been put into it is to look at the eyes. An initial gen's eyes are always going to be fucked up, if even just in a small way. The eyelashes are often weird, and the right eye's design usually fails to match the left eye's design in some way, sometimes just in a small way, but in a way a human artist would never do.
If the eyes are flawless, chances are nearly 100% that a human did editing and/or inpainting to touch up the initial gen.
Look at almost all gens and the eyes are almost always fucked up. Almost nobody puts actual effort into using AI as a tool properly - most just abuse AI to make zero effort lazy slop.

I've never been that into AI "art" or generating images, but video generation is a different game. >>280613735No, I'm just a human who believes in effort and learning.

>>280614907It requires a tremendous amount of effort and learning to produce quality output with AI right now.

>>280607140Wow, that's way more efficient than the brute forcing with inpainting that I've been doing.
>>280615183Yep. Between that and Controlnet use you can do a LOT.
>>280615244I still need to learn Controlnet, though I don't even even really know what it is.
>>280615296Control Net is absolutely critical for transferring poses of existing photos and artwork. ControlNet is the true key to making anything.
>>280615296Canny (or anytest if you're using a Pony-based model) is pretty much the most powerful tool you can use. It's edge detection. So, you quickly sketch/trace some lineart then feed it into Canny and it'll gen based on your lineart. The gen will also fill in the blanks where you don't draw any lineart, so you can, say, trace over a photo or render with a normal human-sized head for a specific pose, but don't trace over the head, leaving it headless - then when you gen the model will put an anime-sized head on it based on the character you prompt.
>>280615421So it's like a more advanced image-to-image technique?
>>280615440Also, Canny is very useful for preserving the existing lineart when inpainting. So, if you want to do a small touchup to something while preserving the lineart, you just activate Canny at a high value before doing the inpaint.
I'd say at least 80% of my gens/inpaints use Canny these days if not more.
>>280614907>effort and learningDistinguish within these two.
Learning to work smart is the most critical and important professional skill to learn besides socializing. At the end of the day, anyone can just sit down and do hard rote retarded repetitive labor. When you are this person, you will do this until you die, unthanked and unrecognized. At which point they plug in someone capable of the exact same thing, and you're forgotten.
Working smart, on the other hand, makes you indispensable. "Is there a better way I could be doing this" should always be at the forefront of your mind. Don't work hard at doing, work hard at learning new things.
>>280615085Yeah, it takes as much effort as having a decent PC and the right apps/prompts lmao. Pro AI faggots never tried anything in their lives, that's why they feel so comfortable with it.
>>280615440>>280615515Where's a good place I can learn more about this? Is this something I can do with just ComfyUI custom nodes, and if so which ones should I get?
>>280615085It doesn't, you just regen if there are too many errors to reasonably mask and inpaint, which is just asking the AI to redo them. No local video models can produce any of the results in this thread, it's just some online generator with a private model.
>>280615648Believe it or not, of all the various ongoing AI gen threads on 4chan, the dudes who are the best at it are on /d/. It makes sense if you think about it, since those fucking degenerates are genning unbelievably strange fetishes without a lot of representation in the models' training data, so they need to get very creative with their methods.
You'll learn a lot by lurking the /d/ gen threads.
As for ComfyUI, I don't know. I use Reforge. Comfy's autismal UI is not for me.
>>280615735>It doesn'tIt does. It takes literal hours to produce a single high-quality image and it will take the average person 6-12 months of experimentation and learning to be able to produce a single high-quality image in hours.

If you weren't stupid, you would understand that artists themselves have the biggest advantage in leveraging AI workloads. This is especially the case if they ever want to animate their works but don't want to invest years creating a hand-drawn 5-minute animation.
>>280615854>You will never be able to prove it's harder than or as hard as drawing.I did not claim it is. I did not compare it to drawing. I said that it takes a lot of effort and learning to produce quality output with it, because it does. I did not compare the amount of effort and learning to the amount of effort and learning related to drawing.
>>280615621I won awards for my drawing in high school and I've been honing my craft as a gigging and recording guitarist for decades.
AI is just another tool that artists can use to produce art.
Back in the 1800s people were saying the same things about photography. Now photography is widely considered art. It is considered art because photographers have control over the seven elements of photography:
>Line>Shape & Form>Pattern>Tone>Colour>Texture>SpaceArtists producing AI-generated/assisted art also have full control over those same seven elements if they know what they're doing.
Is it fucking lame when people just prompt, gen and post it on the internet? Yes, it's lame as shit, and the result is low-quality slop.
Is it art, though, when someone sketches the composition of an AI-generated image, feeds that into Canny, then spends hours refining the image with manual image editing and inpainting? Absolutely.

>>280638766This.
I didn't care about AI art the last 3 years but video generation changes things. Artists with functioning brains should recognize the value here too. It takes independent artists years to complete 5-minute animation projects when animating by hand. Yeah it'll look cooler, but it's not even remotely close to being worth the work required.

>>280649367To be fair, no way in hell I'd only post it only once if I made something this decent; not unless there was an AI general. You know, that thing that every other board has been doing for years now.

>>280651833because consultancy is a job predicated on predicting things months or years in advance? i dont understand your question.
if you want to know what jobs are getting replaced first, it will be programmers, followed by remote workers. Head over to /ldg/ and follow the rentry guides in the OP: >>>/g/105930597
Specifically these ones: "comfyui_guide_1girl" and "wan21kjguide". Ask them any questions if you need to.
I can't post the links here because rentry gets spamfiltered, but once you read those two guides, you will be ready to go.
With the wan21kjguide, make sure you download the lightx2v workflow, but replace the lora with the updated one: https://huggingface.co/Kijai/WanVideo_comfy/tree/main/Lightx2v
That is the current meta, and lets you generate pretty good videos quickly.
You can also download the Ani_Wan Diffusion model, which most webms in this thread are using: https://civitai.com/models/1626197?modelVersionId=1852433

The major problems with video generations is the random light dimming, moving background elements and unwanted camera movement.

this ignores the fact that human artists also make mistakes, typically perception and anatomy mistakes all the time. no one is breaking out a ruler and making sure every bone is just the right length in every scene. dont get me started on breast size fluctuating, thats common enough to be a meme.
but people are hate AI because its rapidly displacing human artists are always going to hate it. AI can now generate art better than 90pc of human artists. only expert-level performers have a hope of staying relevant. amateurs starting now are at a severe disadvantage. the gap will narrow rapidly.
i remember my father having a similar crisis when photoshop was introduced. he had been a photographer for decades, and now you could just do wild shit in an afternoon. this is common when a new technology disrupts an industry. and AI is the ultimate disruptor.
the machine that improves itself is the last machine humans will build.

>>280666952This is why I always put eyes closed in the negative conditioning.
If the eyes are closed on the transitional frame, eye information is lost in the next video.
>>280667035You can theoretically preserve information from the previous gens by using VACE, since VACE i2v can accept both a starting frame (which would be your previous gen's last frame) and a reference image (which would be e.g. your previous gen's starting frame). WHAT'S WITH THESE CENSOR BARS

>>280674379I think that already describes most anime/manga.
In the West, the big movie/hit show of the year is a tentpole experience, something targeted at as many people as possible so they can discuss it over the watercooler. But anime/manga target niches.
Even /a/ mirrors this. You have one group here who discusses isekai, another here who discusses whatever the big yuri anime is, another group here who discusses one of the big shonen. Each has their own memes, their own in-group language, and their own schizos. If a specific show comes out which has sufficient fans, they will congregate in that thread, segregating discussion further. These groups mostly don't mix, except to occasionally "leak out their truths into the cesspool" (in the MGS2 vein) where they share their (mostly) negative view on the other genres and their fans.
>>280675017But even the niches still have the ability to form a small group to discuss things. But catered personal tastes are rapidly becoming more normal. I can't share my music tastes except with my close friends who are willing to tolerate an occasional listen and I'm in the same boat with them. Short form entertainment feeds unnamed videos catered specifically to me, even if I think something is funny and worth sharing I generally can't refind the video and my friends' aren't even aware that kind of short exists because their algorithm feeds them something completely different.
But even with all that, I know theoretically this content is enjoyed by others. I might not ever see one of the 5000 people who watched my favorite music video in public, but it could happen. If the tech advances enough that our entertainment is actually just procedurally generated for people, catered to their specific tastes, it's not just niche, it's completely isolating.
these move like shitty 3d animation
