I don't use that hellsite, do you have any examples of what else people are saying? I kind of get the OP/ED deal. They feel more fanmade. I saw JP artists saying how the MMD made them nostalgic and though I like darker/sadder scenarios with the Matsus it should be kept to fanon or select episodes like the season finales. The ED feels out of place compared to the older ones and the OP is still silly but feels less like it's making fun of dancing openings and more like it was a genuine attempt at one. Aside from the Jyushimatsu platform, Dayon/Chibita/Iyami crossdressing and the women in the crowd there's not really anything funny or 'Osomatsu' about it.

I might be schizophrenic and interpreting things the wrong way but Ichimatsu’s personality in the first season was perfect and they’ve been slowly neutering him as time has gone on. He had a creepier vibe, and the sadist part of his personality would as pop up as much as his shy side. I can’t find the words to explain but in general, his shyness felt more tsun, someone who’d hide his insecurities with a sinister and harsh aloofness and only reluctantly admit them when he’s cornered and can’t pretend to be deadpan, whereas now his soft side is hardly a secret and it’s very moe. It was the perfect blend. Call it character development or maybe I never really understood his character at all but I can’t say I like the more pathetic helpless Ichi from S2 onwards as much as I did him in S1. It’s nice that’s he’s more open with his brothers and feelings but I don’t think current Ichi would be able to pull off the wet towels scene or taunting Iyami and Chibita to the key to the tiger’s cage.

I don't like the idea of it ending with all of them with jobs, wives and kids, I mean yeah but if they get to that point I want them to actually have a character development, to learn the real reasons of why they're neets and fixing it and becoming better people, because if it just end with them having the life they supposedly want, what would be the moral of the story? "Just do what society tells you to do, that's the real happy ending" that just seems wrong for the show... Shouldn't it be something like "You don't need to have the life people tell you you should want, you can have your own life and take as much as time as you need"?? I think it’s good to watch as additional content, but not to be the first or only version for someone. The seiyuus really developed the characters to become what they are as much as the script did, and I think they really are irreplaceable. I did find it funny they localized Ichi as a furry, and it does truly make me genuinely sad that Oso’s VA passed shortly after its release, and makes me enjoy it a little more for his sake. It has its merits for sure.

I completely forgot Ichimatsu was localised as a furry. More evidence that he is the most special of the brothers and most likely to be institutionalised.

Hard to say. Todomatsu probably would since he's the only brother who consistently made the leap from NEETdom to working and has a social life. Osomatsu and Choromatsu both desperately want to lose it but I think both of them would back out and get scared at the last minute. Karamatsu would pretend he's not desperate when he is but if offered sex he'd cower too. Some part of me thinks that Ichimatsu would just push himself to do it and get into his Ichimatsu-sama persona but lets be real he's going to shit on the table and clam up if offered.
