Not really, he's barely a character. It would be nice to give him an actual reason to not be like 99% of the village and treat Naruto nicely other than "he's a nice man". His absence wouldn't be that weird, either, because he's just a ramen chef who was the brother of one of Minato's former teammates. What would you want him to do? It depends. Sometimes it's better to just leave it up to the viewer's interpretation, like Hashirama's death, and sometimes it's just annoying. Like, concerning Minato's team again, why is one of them a Kumo ninja? We literally never see any other person from Konoha look like the Kumo villagers, so why does Minato's team have one, and during one of the world wars? The oneshot would've been the perfect opportunity to explain it (at least in a quick speech bubble something), especially since he was previously always made to just look tanned like Iruka, but it is neve explained.

So Orochimaru's rope belt is actually a shinto thing, it's called a shimenawa: think magic holy rope. Its usually a marker of something being sacred, or used to ward off evil spirits. Being tied *around* something is also how you seal evil spirits into an object though.

Im pretty sure the whole point of it being in Orochimaru's design is to give a wink nudge to the fact that this is not actually his body. It's basically hinting that the person you're seeing is a vessel for an evil spirit, far before you find out he's literally a body snatching magic ghost thing.

Another dimension. Ninjas can store shit in them like weapons. For living beings they are summoned from another dimension and you have to make a contract with them. Demons in the OP and Rashomon come from the Demon Realm obviously,

Giant Toads come from Mt. Myoboku, Giant Snakes come from some cave, and Giant Slugs come from some forest. Other summons like Giant Weasels and Monkeys probably come from other dimensions too. The Shinigami that sealed Orochimaru's arms come from the Land of the Dead or something. This probably explains why there's a bunch of references to gods and even Buddha in the world, there are "other worlds" that the Naruto world take these concepts from.
