About an hour after my post 2 threads ago, I went to the kendo dojo to check stuff out and asked if I can observe their training session. Unexpectedly met a friendly girl there. Kendo girl talked about their training routine, risk of injuries, and their katas, while I told her the connection of Shotokan to Kendo and why I'm curious of at least trying out their stuff. Told her I'll come back to actually do things there when I turn black belt, but will probably do a trial class at least once to try it out. Cheered for her when she sparred. Problem is I found out in the end of their training that she may be at least 10 years younger than me as she's still studying (as to what, I didn't ask). I didn't notice because she was as tall as I am. Also turns out I was sitting beside her mom while we talked. Felt awkward, also not in the mood to fight like 2-3 platoons of kendokas and be arrested by the cops if her mom ever called me a horrible daughter seducer (thankfully she didn't). She was telling me to come back to try it out, I told her I'll return some time, maybe when I finally get my black belt or some time this year for a trial. Actually committing to Kendo is too expensive for me as the armor and shinai cost a fuck ton of cash (compared to karate which cost basically nothing). She was lovely though, compared to that cook lady.
