>>280663562Shinobu is absorbed in this one
>>280663512Upper 1 fight is like 17 chapters itself. That's an entire 2h30m movie. But that makes the second film confusing as they would only have one major fight and the short Obanai Mitsuri vs Nakime.

In Japan the movie got a full title since the final trailer was shown: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle 1st Chapter: Akaza's Second Coming, while the west is still keeping the broad and short "The Movie: Infinity Castle" title.
The titles being tiered by a focus villain leads credence to the trilogy being about the end of the Upper Moons, not Muzan in my opinion.
>>280663694Muzan fight has many filler chapters where he just flail his tentacles around, those could be condensed into something more interesting.

That would mean Japan carries this movie like China did with Ne Zha 2 and the best Japan could do at Demon Slayer's peak in 2020 was $390M, and that was during Covid where it ruled theaters uninterrupted. That won't happen again. Especially with Zootopia 2 looming in on November (a guaranteed $1B+).
Japanese fans already capped this movie out at around 15-20B yen. At best, it'll do One Piece Film Red numbers, at worst, it'll do significantly lesser than Mugen Train.

>>280663879Delusion by omission, nice. The moment I contextualized Infinity Castle outside the vacuum of "anime-only movies" and bring in Zootopia 2, the house of cards folds fast. You walked into a box office conversation pretending Japan = world and anime = all animation. If anything, I'm just dragging you out of your safety blanket and into the real arena, rofl
>>280663942>muh goalpostsNope. I didn't move any goalposts, I just have a calendar and basic foresight (which you lack). What I'm doing is called projection-adjusted forecasting, factoring in the entire year's slate, not just what's coming in Week 1. The fact you're mocking that only exposes how shallow your scope is. There's a reason why Aniplex/Sony chose to drop this movie globally in a dead month of September and NOT November or December. That's where the Oscar season kicks in and Zootopia 2 will eat it alive. Avatar 3 too.
>Superman, F4, JW will do itNice strawman. I never said Superman would kill Demon Slayer, just that Aniplex intentionally kicked it out of theaters early to secure that clean oxygen-deprived Week 1. Which is 100% supported by all the IMAX/Dolby timing receipts. I also never claimed F4 would dominate Japan either, just that every extra showtime that isn't Demon Slayer is money Aniplex doesn't get. And Jurassic World? It's been proven that it will take over, it's the only real "family+blockbuster+IMAX" beast on the radar that Japan actually shows up for. And it's in 4DX unlike Demon Slayer which is in 2D. That's not doomerism, that's just math.
>>280663997Cool insult, bro, but being passionate doesn't mean they'll go watch the same movie eight times a week for twelve weeks straight like it's 2020 again, especially when going by Ufotable's working schedule, they'll release a new movie every year. extended fight sequences too and original infinity castle footage
First scene: Gyomei’s walking through the cemetery of Corps members that Oyakatasama always visited. He’s replaying his last conversation with him. Cut to the last 30 seconds or so of Hashira Unite and all of a sudden we’re back in it.
From there, we get some nice POVs of all the hashira. Footage of Kanroji and Obenai from the trailer happens quite early (Obenai badass af holy shit), and ofc Shinazagawa’s entrance does NOT disappoint.
Watching Gyomei and Tokito together is so dope too. And watching Zenitsu in beast mode on is way to Kaigaku is exactly what we’ve all been waiting for.
We get straight into Shinobu vs Douma relatively quickly. Super well done, but this one felt a bit rushed to me (which I can’t blame them re: fitting it all into one movie). Shinobu has some badass moments for sure, and it ends with her getting absorbed while Kanau gets on the scene.
>>280666176From there, we get our anticipated Zenitsu vs Kaigaku. I felt like this one was pretty perfect honestly. Y’all will geek tf out over seeing Zenitsu locked in; freakin amazing.
Somewhere in between all this, we also see a lot of Kiriya and co; I especially loved how they did this (ie expanded a tiny bit on the manga here), as all the Corps members organizing what looks like countless sheets of maps that Kiriya and his sisters are drawing. They did an incredible job showing how this intertwined with the entire battle etc, and we even got a Kagaya-ghost appearance!! (I think that only comes later in the manga when Nezuko’s on her way, right?)
Ight….so there’s def a reason that Akaza’s name is in the title of the movie.
THIS FIGHT DID NOT HOLD BACK HOLY SHIT GUYS.
Fr, no amount of hype can possibly set your expectations too hiWe see the entire fight, flashback and all. And I’ll say that the highlight imo ABSOLUTELY was our goat Giyu. When he went full on mark-mode, it was almost if not on par w/Tengen vs Gyutaro (not exaggerating); The highlight of the movie for me for sure.
Akaza’s backstory was beautifully done. I was a bit worried about this, given that there’s so many demon backstories and it takes proper time/nuanxe/pacing to make them all feel singular…but luckily they nailed it. And especially given our history with him, it really hit home for me. (If I’m being nitpicky, I didn’t like his father’s voice actor; took me out of the moment once or twice).gh.
>>280666219We see (present) Muzan twice: once in the middle-ish of the movie and once at the very end. Oh yea, and Yushiro was sick!! Next movie he’s really gonna shine.
It ends with both Giyu and Tanjiro passed out post-Akaza death, Kanau having already fought Douma for a bit (bet we’ll see some of that next movie before Inosuke arrives).
>>280666139>extended fight sequencesThat should be a given, every single major fight of previous arcs got new sequences in the anime, even in movie format Akaza vs.Rengoku was slightly expanded, looking back in the manga it is crazy how short Akaza vs. Rengoku is.

>>280663836It will blow the fuck out of One Piece Film Red, Film Red was not even the best performing anime movie of its year, that title went to Slam Dunk thanks to its international run and its extended run in Japan.
>>280664894I have checked his reddit, this guy is a full blown Pissfag, even tried to defend Oda for glazing Pedotsuki and pretended Goutouge's absence from Kenshin's anniversary celebration is not something to be proud of.
He is worse than Jeremy, and his ass will hurt much harder than Jeremy's ass soon.
>>280666608>He is worse than Jeremy, ... Who do you think that is?
>>280666770The Pissfag. Same person who tried to deny that Oda was frothing at the mouth when One Piece lost to KnY in 2019 and made his editor conduct an interview where he shared FAKE NUMBERS to pretend One Piece was the best selling manga that year.
One Piece is shit, it has no legacy, nobody will remember it once it ends, and its dwindling fanbase only cares about the answers to mysteries Oda has been blueballing us with since chapter 1.
>>280666894>The Pissfag.... And who do you think that is?
Let me give you a hint, J
>>280666437Short impactful fights are better than drawn out filler. It's one of the upper moons who regularly kill pillars so Rengoku all alone being able to only briefly stall him makes sense.
>>280666608>It will blow the fuck out of One Piece Film Red, Film Red was not even the best performing anime movie of its year, that title went to Slam Dunk thanks to its international run and its extended run in Japan. So? One Piece Film Red did over $250M globally and was the #1 anime movie of 2022 worldwide. Only Slam Dunk passed it domestically in Japan due to long legs and local appeal. My prediction stands: Infinity Castle won’t reach that worldwide without Japan hard-carrying it, which is unlikely.
>I have checked his reddit, this guy is a full blown Pissfag, even tried to defend Oda for glazing PedotsukiLol. You're literally cyberstalking me and still lost the argument (still waiting for roses from my #1 admirer). That's embarrassing. I didn't even have to try hard, you're voluntarily doing recon and still can't find a real "gotcha" against me. My Reddit takes are reasoned, backed by industry patterns and not reactionary or terminally online like the majority of you pathetic children.
As for my comments about Watsuki? It's perfectly balanced. I called him what he is (a piece of shit), I made it clear I wasn't defending him, and I correctly explained that Gotouge or Kubo not showing up was due to personal disengagement, not any woke virtue signaling fantasy. You're just mad I'm not a raving moralfag or a fanboy. That's how low your standards are.
>>280666953J is strictly MHA fag and anti-BC schizo, if you check that reddit, that person hardly cares about MHA, and only cares about defending his idol Oda.
>>280667170Slam Dunk did better than One Piece internationally too, mostly due to asian territories which considerably neglect.
>I correctly explained that Gotouge or Kubo not showing up was due to personal disengagement, not any woke virtue signaling fantasy.First of all, it is not strictly woke to be against child abuse.
Secondly, both Kubo and Goutouge drew tributes for Dragon Ball's anniversary, Kubo is even drawing for Black Clover's anniversary. It is not due to them not getting invited like you would like to believe.

>>280667367>Slam Dunk did better than One Piece internationally too, mostly due to asian territories which considerably neglect.Flat-out lie. Slam Dunk barely edged Film Red domestically in Japan: ¥15.7B vs ¥20B for Film Red. But globally, Film Red made $246M+ and Slam Dunk ~$279M. Higher, but only because it had a freakishly long tail in East/Southeast Asia (especially Korea and China) and rode nostalgia hard. And neither of them is replicable for Demon Slayer Infinity Castle. Why? Slam Dunk had no TV rerun fatigue and came out of nowhere after 20+ years of absence (anime ended in the middle of the story). Film Red was a musical with Uta marketing shoved in every orifice.
Meanwhile Demon Slayer is trying to re-sell reused content to a post-boom market while bullying competitors out of theaters. Goos luck running that marathon in 2025's landscape.
>First of all, it is not strictly woke to be against child abuse.Nice rhetorical spin, but I never said it was. What I actually said (and it stands true) is that the absence of Gotouge/Kubo wasn't some ideological power move, it's standard. They weren't constants in tributes. And they have no connection to Watsuki like those participated did (the manga industry is very cliquey). You're just trying to act morally superior because you got obliterated on industry logic.
>Kubo drew for DB and Black Clover Which proves nothing. That just means he shows up when he feels like it, and Kubo is friends with the Black Clover author. As are everyone else participating in its anniversary. And showing up for DB is standard practice for Jump artists, even Mikio Ikemoto showed up to pay his respects to DB. Not that Kubo is on a moral crusade. The exact point I made.
>>280667874It's still meant to be boiling blood.
You think sanemi should be having green blood?
stop replying to that faggot, he already got btfo time and time again in wsj
i'm not the guy but it probably won't have the same legs as Mugen Train even if it has a bigger opening. Not even Empire Strikes Back made as much as Star Wars. A social phenomenon that makes granpaw and grannie go to the theater to see what the fuss is about is not going to happen over and over.
>>280667884>Goos luck running that marathon in 2025's landscape.Seems like it'll do it just fine and do like 350 million.at the very least ww
>>280667917NTA but i also think it'd make 16-20b. enough to enter top 10 all time jp

>>280667917Everyone knows it's not going to make *as much*, but it's still going to make a retarded amount money.
Easy over 200-250 million in japan and then international to round it off.
>>280667519Cute, the admissions cope. Now try and compare revenue, not admissions (pricing and inflation matter) and realize Infinity Castle is three episodes glued together, marketed for months, blasted across 18 screenings/day, and frontloaded to hell.
Admissions =/= legs. Mugen Train didn’t just start hot, it had insane staying power for months in a Covid-cleared field. Infinity Castle's gonna nosedive once Jurassic World shows up August 8. That’s not me "hoping", that's math and history talking.

>NOOOOOO, STOP ACTING LIKE KUBO AND GOUTOUGE ARE MORALLY SUPERIOR THAN MY PEDOPHILE APOLOGIST ODA
btw no trailer or release date for second movie, might actually be 2027
>>280668048Correct. That stat in picrel is 座席数 (zasekisu), which literally means "number of seats available", not tickets sold or actual admissions. It's just how many seats were allocated for each movie on July 18, i.e., how much screen space and how many showings each title gets.
>Infinity Castle: 1,302,413 seats across 5,804 screeningsWhich is an absolutely massive screen count, pure Aniplex blitzkrieg mode. But still just seats, not butts in seats.
>Superman>114,105 seats across 964 screeningsYou can see how hard Aniplex bullied it out. A nearly 90% drop in screen count compared to Demon Slayer. That's not natural, that's strategic throttling.
So yeah, you just got caught confusing maximum potential with actual turnout. It's like bragging that a restaurant has 1,000 tables set but ignoring whether people are actually dining. This doesn't tell you anything about how much money Infinity Castle will make, only that Aniplex is stuffing screens before competition arrives. And we both know why.
>It's frontloaded>It has 2-3 weeks to print as much as possible before Jurassic World starts stomping all over itAnime films, especially franchise-driven ones like Demon Slayer, Conan, and One Piece are notorious for massive frontloaded turnouts. You get:
>Hardcore fanbase turnout>Pre-sale/midnight hype>Limited fanservice content (bonus merch, posters, etc)>Wall-to-wall screeningBut what happens after the first weekend? That's where the real performance begins.
>>280668416I think they wouldn't push it yet, a year is too far out
>>280668490*I mean to say they wouldn't push it yet even if it's just a year, they want to keep people excited for this movie until it has made most of its money and not remind people it's just a slice
>ANIPLEX IS THROTTLING MY SUPERMAN, NOOOOOO.
>Shueisha definitely didn't throttle Kimetsu no Yaiba's sales by underprinting it to keep The Highest First Print record to their favorite child Oda and his declining manga.

>>280668819damn does someone have a screener, that looks like it's off a monitor rather than a theater projection
>>280667684Not sure I like the decision to have them flying through the castle with their attacks, but looks nice either way. I'm curious to see what they added to Zenitsu's fight.
what's up wtih all those leaks
>>280668857>*loses to muzan's cock*
>>280668887>>280668897Hey most likely those guys are going to prison, cut them some slack
>>280668248Of course it's not bad marketing. Never said it was. What I pointed out and what you can’t seem to process is that *it's artificially frontloaded*. They squeezed out other films (F1, Superman, etc.) to eliminate opening week competition and they stacked the deck to create a fake "crash-the-servers" vibe for the opening buzz.
This isn't controversial, it's strategy and it's EXACTLY what you'd do if you don’t have legs and need 100% of the oxygen in the room early. The problem isn't the 18 screenings, it's the implication that this proves long-term dominance. It doesn’t. All it proves is that Aniplex is gaming the schedule to milk the core fanbase ASAP before reality sets in and Jurassic World comes to devour it.
>>280668326You have zero idea how international box office breakdowns work, rofl. Slam Dunk barely beat Film Red worldwide ($279M vs $246M), despite having almost no Western footprint. It squeezed the last yen out of Japan and lived off nostalgia in Korea/China/SEA.
Film Red had actual presence in the US, France, Mexico and pulled big from cross-demographics because of the Uta phenomenon, Gear 5 and Shanks. And again: none of this helps Infinity Castle.
I said:
>Neither Slam Dunk's nor Film Red’s paths are replicable.Which is 100% accurate. Infinity Castle:
>Has no nostalgia hook>Is pretty much just TV episodes cut together >Already showed signs of franchise fatigue>And is dropping in a stacked year with Zootopia 2, Jurassic World, Avatar 3, and moreYou're clinging to past glories to deflect from the obvious decay in hype.
>>280668416Since 2019 there hasn't been a single year without new KnY animated content, there's no way 2026 breaks that streak, unless they want to start messing that up right now.
2019 - Anime debut
2020 - Mugen Train
2021 - Mugen Train TV cut + Red-Light District
2022 - RLD crossed into this year, ending here
2023 - Swordsmith Village
2024 - Pillar Training
2025 - Infnity Castle, first movie
>>280668326Also, this...
>NOOOOOO, STOP ACTING LIKE KUBO AND GOUTOUGE ARE MORALLY SUPERIOR THAN MY PEDOPHILE APOLOGIST ODA...is just embarrassing, lmfao. This isn't even a rebuttal, you're just rageposting from an empty brain. I've never defended Watsuki, not once. I literally called him a piece of shit and simply explained, accurately, that Kubo and Gotouge:
>Don't attend everything>Weren’t even regulars at tribute collabs>Likely didn’t participate because of industry cliques, disinterest, or irrelevance to the original creator of RuroKenInstead, you're projecting your own performative moralfaggotry onto the situation and calls it a "gotcha." It's laughable and you're pathetic.
>>280669071There will definitely be a tv broadcast of this movie next year, but I could see a late 2026 movie release.
>>280669124Being against actual pedophilia isn't moralfaggotry.

There are so many bad amateur animations of infinite fortress on youtube, how does aniplex allow that
>>280669134I expect a Tv cut as well, but that doesn't count as new content, the TV cut for Mugen Train was only used to expand RLD for example.
>>280669249>newMy brain skipped over this word in your post, my bad. But yeah, I think late 2026 would likely be the next release date.

>>280669210>how does aniplex allow thatThey actually cracked down hard on any fan animation that used the OST, any one remaining are using cover versions or don't use the OST at all. Other than that they can't flag the actual animation since it is entirely fan made, and detrimental like porn.
>>280669124You are not defending Watsuki, you are defending Oda the pedophilia apologist.
I am making a joke because your argument is too retarded to engage with.
>>280669018>You have zero idea how international box office breakdowns work, rofl. Slam Dunk barely beat Film Red worldwide ($279M vs $246M), despite having almost no Western footprint. It squeezed the last yen out of Japan and lived off nostalgia in Korea/China/SEA.>Film Red had actual presence in the US, France, Mexico and pulled big from cross-demographics because of the Uta phenomenon, Gear 5 and Shanks.Doesn't matter, at the end of the day Slam Dunk > One Piece Film Red globally, even though One Piece Film Red was carried by the rising popularity of Ado and not its declining franchise.
KNY is very popular in Korea, China, and SEA, countries that support anime movies and actually show up in cinemas a lot more than US, France, and Mexico that you are so proud of.
And finally, Aniplex isn't throttling Superman, Aniplex doesn't own all the theaters in Japan. KNY has that many screenings due to the high demand.
>>280669452You'd think Shueisha could do it since it's an unlicensed adaptation
>>280668857Get pregnant and give birth to Tanjiro's babies.
>>280669191Pedophilia is based. Stop being a puritan moralfaggot for something which is perfectly fine countries over
>>280669134I suspect they will wait until all movies are out and only then they will make a tv episodic cut.
>>280669549Nah they always want to be onboarding new people that can catch up fully before the next movie, it's 100% going to be on TV and streamshit
>>280669586It will air on tv and get released on streaming websites as a movie. They won't cut it into episodes until all 3 movies are out.
>>280669549Ufotable and aniplex have been going pretty crazy about pushing for theatrical and TV releases of everything they for KnY without waiting, like TV seasons get the finale pushed into theaters the following year, while the Mugen Train movie had its TV cut the following year as well. I believe things will be the same for the IF movies, next year Akaza goes to TV.
>>280669660Hmm, I dunno. It probably depends on whether Netflix wants it chopped enough to pay extra.
Man they really have everyone flying around the infinite fortress clearing five miles per jump during the battles, kinda DBZ
>>280669191>Being against actual pedophilia isn't moralfaggotry. No shit, retard. I never said being against pedophilia is moralfaggotry. That's you inventing a strawman so you can throw a tantrum about an argument that only exists in your own head.
What I actually said:
>Kubo and Gotouge not drawing a tribute for Watsuki doesn't automatically mean they're making a moral standWhich is true and completely reasonable. You can't counter that, so you screams "PEDO DEFENDER!" and attack a totally different person (Oda) while attributing it to me. That's slander-by-association, classic move when someone has no ammo left.
>>280669512>You are not defending Watsuki, you are defending Oda the pedophilia apologist.I never even brought Oda up. You did.
You're just trying to bait outrage from third parties because my logic already stomped you in front of everyone. It's a Hail Mary to try to discredit me by painting me as some villain. The irony ofn all is that you're so obsessed with the moral high ground, yet you're the one who:
>Digs up my Reddit posts>Misquoting my arguments>Relying on childish insults and false equivalenciesThat's not righteousness. That's being an unhinged terminally online loser with too much time and too little comprehension.
>>280669512Second...
>Doesn't matter, at the end of the day Slam Dunk > One Piece Film Red globallyThis is dumbest thing you've said yet and that's a high bar.
It does matter why, because we're talking about whether Infinity Castle can replicate that success. And the answer is still a massive no.
Slam Dunk's success was:
>A surprise comeback>With zero TV rerun fatigue>Fueled by nostalgia and domestic strength>With long-ass legs in Korea and China>And minimal competitionInfinity Castle is none of that.
>It's part of a serial content stream already fatigued in the domestic market>It's not fresh, the manga ended a long time ago and everyone has already read the manga>It faces more competition in its first 4 weeks than Mugen Train did in 4 months>It's not going to magically catch fire in the West where anime movies still struggle>Aniplex isn't throttling Superman, Aniplex doesn't own all the theaters in Japan. KNY has that many screenings due to the high demand.Corporate bootlicking at its finest. Sasuga daze.
>"I-It's not manipulation, it’s just popular!"No. Demand is being manufactured and concentrated.vToei and Aniplex do not need to own cinemas to influence them, they negotiate aggressive theater share, and buy out premium formats (IMAX, Dolby) to box out competitors. "Demand" isn’t some organic magic. They:
>Heavily restrict prescreenings>Build media hype through exclusives>Limit premiere access to create manufactured scarcity>Drop collector's items, fanservice bonuses, and early merch incentives to spike turnoutAnd the moment Jurassic World, they will lose hundreds of screens overnight. This is opening-week milking, not long-term strength. One Piece Film Red did the exact same strategy Infinity Castle does.
I wish aniplex wasn't so protective of the music. Do they really sell enough copies of the OST that keeping it off youtube is worth it
>>280671345Yeah they're being faggy, can't listen to the ost at all on youtube
which is sad considering how great the OST is
>>280670959calm down nigga, you will pop a vein
And would you look at that, even the Japanese are agreeing with me and everything I've argued from rewatch value, market saturation, post-boom fatigue to screen competition is confirmed by mainstream Japanese reporting. And no amount of fanboy screeching about "400億確定!" changes the math. Man, this year keeps getting better and better. I'll translate what the article says.
> 2020年当時はコロナ禍で公開される作品が少なく、多くのスクリーンを長期間確保できましたが、今回は多くの大作・話題作がひしめく夏休みシーズンです。
>Back in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, there were very few film releases, allowing for a long-term hold on many screens. This time, however, it's the summer vacation season, crowded with many big titles and hot releases.
Translation: Mugen Train was a fluke. It benefited from an empty playing field but that's not the case in 2025. Infinity Castle has real competition from all sides.
>大ヒット中の『国宝』は前週を上回る右肩上がりの興行を続けており、その勢いはまだまだ続きそうです。
>The currently successful film Kokuhou is continuing to perform even better than the previous week, and its momentum looks to continue.
Translation: Demon Slayer isn't even the only big local fish. Kokuhou (a sleeper hit) is holding steady and cutting into repeat viewer attention. A huge chunk of Japanese filmgoers especially older cinephiles, critics, and film industry veterans WILL absolutely bump up Kokuhou's box office since they resent the monopolization of screens by anime franchises like Demon Slayer, Conan, and One Piece.

> 本作の上映時間が155分と長尺であることも、劇場のブッキングを難しくする一因です。>Its long runtime of 155 minutes also makes theater booking more difficult."Translation: The film is too long to stack efficiently, meaning it eats fewer total showings per screen a major red flag for longevity. Also, the article says:
>Toho Cinemas Shinjuku is playing it 40 times on day one, totaling 103 hours of screen time. That's the equivalent of 51 regular 2-hour films. Just running this title costs ~11 other movie screenings.Which means:
>Theater chains are literally sacrificing other movies (and revenue diversity) to force Infinity Castle showings, which is risky and unsustainable.> "3部作の最初の作品という『ホップ・ステップ・ジャンプ』の『ホップ』に当たる本作が、興行にどう影響するかも未知数です。"> "As the first installment in a planned trilogy, the 'Hop' in 'Hop, Step, Jump', how this film will perform remains uncertain."Even JP media is saying: This is just the setup movie. It's not the big finale. Its draw power is inherently limited even with hype.

>>280674381Yes, the opening day numbers are strong, which is to be expected from a franchise-driven IP.
>~540,000 tickets sold by midday>¥500M gross by noon? Impressive>Within ~15% of Mugen Train pace at certain hour markers? Sure, OKThat still does not mean it's "doing better" than Mugen Train, though. At best, it's tracking close for Day 1 with far more theater saturation, greater screen count, and massive pre-release campaign blitzing every corner of Japanese media.
>performing twice as well as the last Conan movieRight, because Infinity Castle opened on a national holiday in the middle of summer vacation with more than 5,000 daily screenings, wall-to-wall IMAX, 4DX, and marathon fan events. Meanwhile, Conan came out in late-April and had to build over weeks like every other non-mania-driven release. This isn’t an organic, slow-burn hit, it's a weaponized fanservice bomb dropped onto an empty landscape for four days.
Also, legs > launch
Any box office analyst would tell you that right away, rofl. Mugen Train didn't become the GOAT because of opening day, it was because it ran uninterrupted for months during Covid with no Hollywood threats, zero counter-programming, and unbeatable word of mouth. Infinity Castle, on the other hand, is...
>Facing Jurassic World in under 3 weeks>Superman already on screens>Kamen Rider drops July 25 along with the Fantastic Four>Kokuhou gaining more weekday and late-night showings, cinephiles will absolutely make sure it represents the counterweight because a lot of moviegoers also resent that TV anime dominates theaters
Shinobu & Mitsuri vs Douma
How far can this fight go?
>>280680794Legs > launch.
And revenue per seat also matters.
Don't get lost in admissions. It's not just how many people show up, it's:
>How many are repeat viewers (fan base burnout risk)>Whether they're in premium formats (IMAX, 4DX)>And if those formats are sustainable post-Week 1Yahoo Japan already pointed this out: long runtimes throttle total daily screenings (even when it dominates share). Theaters hate this because it reduces turnover per screen and causes congestion. If buzz dips, they'll start booting it for leaner films quickly.
Infinity Castle is crushing its opening but opening day isn't the game. It's just the coin toss. Here's a truth pill that you underages hate to swallow:
>Demon Slayer just blew its biggest shot in one day. After that, it has to earn the legs and that’s where it'll fall short of Mugen Train. I'm not saying it'll flop, it's Japan, of course it won'r. It'll do ¥15-20B yen, maybe a bit more worldwide if Japan hard-carries. But the idea that it's “already doing better than Mugen Train” is pure emotional fanfiction, rofl. You can talk shit again when the second weekend numbers hit. That's when the actual movie, not the marketing, will start speaking.

>>280681449>BombingJapan was never the target market, and Superman pulled $314M globally in 6 days, with legs forming across Asia and Europe. That's solid for a soft reboot after DC's collapse. Also:
>Superman is still on screens (and whether you like it or not, it's still pulling steady internationally, far more impressive than Mugen Train ever did).>Jurassic World Rebirth will gut Infinity Castle once it drops. That's the real predator in the shadows>Kamen Rider + Fantastic Four hit the same weekend and you know that's going to hit the local demos hard, I'm talking of course about Kamen Rider>And Kokuhou is the cinephile darling, slowly getting more prestige showings and buzz, the exact kind of film that has legs>>280681498>new detective conan movie did huge as usualAnd Conan builds long legs. Conan doesn't blow its entire load on Day 1 with 18 daily showings and marketing overkill. That's why people respect its grind.
>no one seethes that anime is in theaters except anime haters.Brat, Yahoo Japan, cinema operators, and film writers have literally been voicing concerns about this model. Cinephile fatigue is real. Demon Slayer dominates real estate, but at the cost of theater diversity, that is documented. They resent that TV anime is taking over theaters against live-action movies.
>>280681689>and Superman pulled $314M globally in 6 days>bought into WB's lies>it's at 260 million and doing like shit everywhere but america

Mugen Train made ¥40.4B domestically, that translated to ~$370M at the time because the yen was around 108 per dollar. Now? The yen has cratered to 160 per dollar, the worst exchange rate in over 30 years.
So even if Infinity Castle matches Mugen Train in yen (it won't), it would only be worth ~$255-270M, depending on conversion fees and timing.
That's a 100 million dollar difference from just currency tanking. Not ticket sales. Not hype. Not legs. Just economic rot, because Japan's fiscal state is worse than Greece's right now.

>>280682400No one's coping except for you, rofl. I can even smell the anxiety reeking off from you because I'm winning and you know it, so you're having a meltdown.
What I consistently said:
>Infinity Castle won't replicate Mugen Train, Japan would hard-carry, but exchange rate makes it worthless in USD because Japan's fiscal state is worse than Greece's right now>It may land around ¥15-20B, and possibly top out globally at $180–200M without a China miracleThat's still accurate as of today. Nothing I've said conflicts with that. My range is cautious but realistic, I never once guaranteed a flat "$100M in Japan" cap. I gave the upper ceiling and variables. That’s not backpedaling, that's how grown-ups predict.
Meanwhile, your idea of forecasting is:
>L-LOOKS BIG ON DAY ONE SO IT’S GONNA MAKE HISTORY!!111!It's toddler-tier market analysis. Let's say Infinity Castle makes ¥20B (which is generous, by the way — it'll need strong legs and zero competition, and both of those are already under fire), at today's exchange rate (~¥160 = $1), that's $125M. Now let's say it does pull $60-70M internationally (if Taiwan, South Korea and SEA show up and the US doesn't sleep on it). That lands it at around $185-195M total, exactly in the zone I projected.
Even if this film cracks the top 10 all-time in Japan by yen, it'll be worth way less globally than it looks and not because of my "coping," but because of Japan’s economic freefall. Your entire “W” is based on nostalgia and leaderboard clout denominated in a dying currency.
But you wouldn't know that, because you're just a stupid child who wants to talk like an adult but knows nothing just like the vast majority of Demon Slayer fans are.

>>280683693No, genius. I'm saying Mugen Train didn't need the crutches Infinity Castle is currently hobbling around on. It wasn't kneecapped by Covid, it was elevated by it. Try reading the words, not just reacting to the voices in your head.
Mugen Train had:
>No IMAX>No 4DX>No 5,000 daily screenings>No stage events>No marketing blitz on every single platformIt had one thing: hype backed by quality and a perfect timing vacuum. Infinity Castle? It's doing all the right things on paper and still barely scraping past it at inflated prices, premium upcharges, and double the theater real estate.
You can twist that into whatever fanfiction helps you sleep at night, but the numbers don’t lie: same number of butts in seats = way less value. It's not just about how many people show up, it's how much those people are worth per yen and dollar. And in 2025, the yen is about as valuable as your opinions: bottom shelf.
>>280683820>still barely scraping past it at inflated prices>30% more admissions on day one>b-b-but inflationIrrelevant.
>>280683802He literally changes his cope everytime, the retard thought infinty castle was outpacing mugen because of ticket price. then when he got btfo straight away. says its akshully because of covid
anyway
i like kimetsu no yaiba
>>280683836like seriously. he is backtracking so fast and non-chalantly (because low iq or memory problem) that he undermine his old argument.
i though we joking that he is retard, but he actually might. and now thats offensive of me to him.
>>280683921He def has some mental illness or trauma of some kind
>>280683802>did you swear that MIUGEN TRAIN only SUCCESS because COVID????No, dumbass. I said Mugen Train's numbers were amplified by COVID, not created by it. Learn the difference. It was already a hyped release, but it benefited from:
>No competition for months>Empty theater schedules>Repeat viewings due to content drought>Pandemic sentimentality and escapismIt was a perfect storm that let it run unchallenged like an emperor for a year and a half. Infinity Castle doesn't have that, it's on a clock, and Jurassic World is about to slam it headfirst into Week 3.
>summer is for blockbuster, dumbass.Right, and that's the problem. Infinity Castle is dropping during the most competitive time of the year, with studios fighting tooth and nail for screen space. That means it:
>Won't hold 18+ daily screenings for long>Will start losing premium formats to Hollywood giants>Can't coast forever on first-week fan burstsThis isn't 2020, this is a bloodbath of a release window. "Summer blockbuster season" is not a free win, it's a survival trial.
>>280683825>>30% more admissions on day one
At what cost?
>Inflated IMAX prices>Bundled merchandise packages>Theater-wide saturation on a national holiday>Marathon screenings>All-night eventsYou dumped the entire war chest into Day 1 and padded every metric possible. But legs win the game. Mugen Train wasn't frontloaded, it held. Infinity Castle will need miracles to sustain past Week 2 once the novelty wears off and the next franchise drops in. Also, you don't get to brag about inflated attendance and pretend price or market saturation doesn't matter. That's not how analysis works, that's how coping looks which you have in volumes.
>>280683836What's changing? The projection hasn't moved:
>¥15-20B ceiling domestically>~$180–200M global, with currency rot factored in>Japan will hard-carry; international is bonus crumbsThat's been consistent across multiple posts. What you keep changing is your expectations:
>First it was "going to beat Mugen Train easy!">Now it's "b-but more admissions!!!">Soon it'll be "b-but it broke merch records!!!">Eventually: "It still won top 10 Japan, cope!"The goalpost is running a fucking marathon at this point.
You can scream about "retard" this or "cope" that all day, but it doesn't change the simple math: infinity Castle is strong, but not a miracle. Mugen Train was lightning in a bottle. And yelling on the internet won't bottle lightning twice.
Now go lie down before your blood pressure breaks ¥1 billion.
>>280683997>>¥15-20B ceiling domesticallythat's more than 100m in japan you've been telling the past month,. even with the weak rates
ergo, your cope has been destroyed,
>>280683772i guess for them it's similar to the first weekend of avengers endgame
>>280683997>>¥15-20B ceiling domesticallyYou wish jimbo.
>>280683948>that's how coping looks which you have in volumes.Says, as he's been coping for the past two weeks and KEEPS coping about its success.

kek based nip
>>280683997so you still clinging to 20B max??? are you sure you will not move the goal post again??
thats your final LINE???
YOU swore that InCa will never have OD or OW close to Mugen train because of HOLLYWOOD blockbuster, superman, f4, and so on.
do you ever learn how many mistakes you make this past few weeks?? chatgpt didnt know the future, it cant predict shit. your estimation is old news.
>>280684109>are you sure you will not move the goal post again??he will, he already moved past 90m in japan max (which is around 10b)
he also moved past it flopping and now copes about currency rates, as if thats not a good thing to the studio and sony
>>280684042retard literally cant count or doing basic logic. he used machine AI, likely.
>>280684042Not a rebuttal, that's just wishful barking. You don't want ¥15-20B to be true because you're emotionally invested. I'm not. I'm just giving you the brutal math you hate, probably because you dropped out of school because of it:
>Japan is carrying this film entirely>There is no China release>The yen is dead (¥160/$1)>Hollywood returns to kick it out of premium formats in Week 3>WOM will flatten once the fanbase burns through rewatch cyclesKeep dreaming, brat. Numbers don't care about your underage feelings.
>>280684075Nope. I literally acknowledged Infinity Castle has a strong opening. I've never denied that. What I did say (and you keep ignoring) is that a huge opening doesn't mean a huge final gross. You're confusing momentum with mileage. Infinity Castle is a frontloaded bomb with:
>Weaponized fanservice>Holiday boost>Merch-tied tickets>18 daily screenings + every format under the sunYou basically launched a cultural nuke on Day 1 and now you're praying it sustains. Mugen Train was a slow-burn marathon with tailwind. This is a fireworks display: bright, loud, and over quick.
>>280684109False. I said it wouldn't match Mugen Train'a entire first week trajectory, because:
>Mugen Train's "open" was stretched across several days due to limited capacity and slow re-expansion from COVIDAnd:
>Infinity Castle crammed everything into Day 1 on a holidayThat means it's bleeding out future days to frontload the headlines. But you'te too obsessed with the optics of "breaking" Mugen Train to understand that the legs will tell the true story, not whatever clickbait record they snatched by spamming IMAX.
>do you ever learn how many mistakes you make this past few weeks??Yeah, I learned:
>You can't reason with a fanboy>You definitely can't reason with a delusional one>And you’ll never admit that box office isn't about feelings, it's about fiscal realityYou really are just a child.
>>280684274>I'm not.You are the person most emotionally invested in this movie.
>>280684274>because you're emotionally invested. I'm notYou have been posting about the movie, for 12 hour per day, for weeks at least for zero monetary revenue or any value. or even any effect on the movie itself.
What the fuck is that called then?
man i miss the chapter release threads bros

I love watching Jeremy crash out. Feels like its been a while (I refuse to go to /v/ to see if he does that there).
>>280684562>>280684576>What's your most memorable moment when winning the award In my award winning work, I tried to depict the theme of traditional Japanese clothes, vampires, a strong human that even the vampires fear, and someone who works hard and doesn't let their handicap show. The work is far from perfect. After winning the award, when I work on my one-shots and series, I always thought about wanting to payback those who evaluated my work at that time.
>Please give a message to newcomers who are aiming for Jump New World award Whether you're drawing a storyboard or manuscript, try to finish it as a whole first before comprehensively evaluating the work overall. You'll learn many things that will help you improve. If you are stuck and stop half way through, try to think carefully what's the cause (for example, is it the character, structure, or the setting that makes the story difficult to develop).
>Editorial comment on "Kagarigari" The author has a unique sense that standout, but lack enough drawing power to express it. Additionally, the author needs a structure that helps the readers emotionally connect to the characters.
>>280684964imo the one shot had great design for the mc but yeah the drawing was too "realistic" and not good to look at. Both it and the emotion were improved in kny
though i wish she used the one handed swordmen design in kny
Mugen Train - Infinity castle
8PM - 539,897 - 672,213
Last 20 min update was a colossal +43.5k with 91.6% attendance. The OD admits record for mimorin will fall on the next 20 min update.
>>280685229unfortunate infinity castle was handicapped by lack of seats from theaters
After this day and weekend results, they'll take more seats from superman and non performing movies though
>>280685229>not even 9 yetFucking amazing.
>>280685243>by lack of seats from theatersremember when J was saying the movie had too many seats kek
>>280685084According to Katayama or well pretty much editorial, the mc's design is too strong, he overshadows everyone else. They want someone who is standout but not to the point he overshadows other characters. Originally Tanjiro was a supporting character.
>>280683772>The kimetsu shiftA new one? After all this time? I remember there was a list of things called "kimetsu ______" back when it was breaking records for the first time
741355 at 20:48
110K seats more to go. Need 54% occupancy to hit 800K. Mugen Train added 70K+ from this point on. So Highly likely to do 800K+.
OD actuals could be 1.05-1.1M. It's being limited by the seats available
All screenings at Aeon Cinema Myoden have been cancelled due to lightning issues.
Mugen Train - Infinity castle
4PM - 622,495 - 773,646
I am thinking 1.6b+ OD.
>>280684287Projection. I'm dealing with a guy who's spent days screenshotting my posts, quoting me like a fangirl, writing 20-paragraph breakdowns of my "coping," and still pretending I'm the one obsessed? Lmao. I delivered data-backed, sourced logic. You're delivering schizo-level play-by-play updates like you're tracking the stock market.
No, boy. You're just salty that I'm pulling your little anime hype train back down to Earth with actual economics.
>>280684321>You have been posting about the movie, for 12 hour per dayLol. Let's play your logic out:
>Me, a hobbyist, like analyzing box office trends.>You, a fanboy, sits around doomscrolling updates and arguing with me nonstopAnd somehow I'm the one wasting time? You're out here pretending to be the fandom's stock analyst and acting like I'm obsessed for calling out delusional hopium with cold facts. Reality check: you can't handle the fact that I called this movie's ceiling months ago and every passing update makes me look smarter.
Also, you're acting like I'm running circles around you in a thread somehow makes me the loser. Pure cope. You're bleeding from the ego and trying to spin it as victory.
Now, about the "1.6B yen Opening Day!!" cope...
>>280685737Cool. It frontloaded everything. That's exactly what I said would happen. Strong opening? Yep. But it gutted its Week 1 and Week 2 legs in the process:
>National holiday bump? Spent>Marathon IMAX screens? Already facing pressure from Kamen Rider, Fantastic Four, and Jurassic World>Fan rewatch blitz? That doesn't scale>Merch bundling? Works once>Cinephile pushback? Already happening, Kokuhou's late-night expansions are realThis was an artificial explosion. It's not sustainable. And opening day never tells the full story. Ask The Flash, The Rise of Skywalker, or even Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
You can stew in your own little echo chamber. I'm not losing this, I'm writing the postmortem before the corpse is even cold.
Demon slayer won
Masterpiece no yaiba
>>280685935>and still pretending I'm the one obsessed? You have been spamming these threads for two weeks, researching data like crazy just to prove a point (it's failing).
You are, BY FAR, the most emotionally invested person in this whole board in this movie, because you've posted the most about it in the most passionate way.
>Me, a hobbyist, like analyzing box office trends. No, you are an insane schizo who's been doing this shit for over 6 years, as anyone can tell.
>>280685935>>Cinephile pushback? Already happening, Kokuhou's late-night expansions are realImagine thinking this is real or that it affects kimetsu in any way.
But you think everyone is the same person, so even worse.
*1 800684 劇場版 鬼滅の刃 無限城編 …
800K FUCKNG K
800 FUCKING K LETS GO
>>280686004It needs what? 50k more?
>>280686014It needs nothing it already broke mugen train record a while ago
I think there's only 50k seats left country wide
AEON screenings cancelled so the number might be lower.
They should have cancelled capeshit and gave all its seats and imax to DS
>>280686091Japanese people going crazy on box office tracking thread kek
>>280685976I'm sorry, are you not also here, Googling me up, quoting my posts line-by-line across platforms, watching box office updates like it's a blood pressure monitor? I'm just correcting dumb takes and your takes are retarded. You're the one treating this like your childhood trauma hinges on it. So shut up and sit the fuck down, the grown-ups are talking right now.
>>280686004Yes. 800K Day 1. Great, impressive. I expected it to open strong. What part of 'frontloaded fanservice bomb' went over your head? You also conveniently ignore this little detail, because you can't refute it:
>Mugen Train held the box office hostage for months>Infinity Castle just emptied the clip in 16 hoursYou're celebrating a sprint. I'm measuring the marathon. Now let's do math, since you clearly skipped school (as expected from an idiotic child):
>¥1.6B opening? Great>Multiply that pace across 30 days? Impossible, the holidays end, the rewatch cycle dries up, premium format slots go to Jurassic World, Fantastic Four + Kamen Rider are salivating for that screen shareEven if Infinity Castle somehow lands at ¥20B, that's only 50% of Mugen Train’s total, and at today's exchange rate, that’s just ~$125M. That's not even Top 5 anime worldwide. So yes, a strong open. But you just blew your load early, and by Week 3, this thing is going to look like Slam Dunk with a sunburn.
You'rw all bark and zero foresight. I've been consistent since day one: ¥15-20B ceiling, global ~$180M range, Japan hard-carrying with legs being the deciding factor. So far? I'm dead on. You're just screaming now because deep down, you knows I'm probably right and you're pre-mourning your fantasy of a ¥40B encore.
