Kinda a weird volume. Overall, I like it way more than the Anko arc, but it kinda feels like it doesn't know how light the tone should be. I really liked the early chapters where everyone was kinda goofing around, and the chapters of Kiku manipulating Mahiru were well done. But, again, I feel like the manga stumbles when it comes time to actually depict the action sequences

Yeah, I have no idea what the tone of the last few chapters is supposed to be. Kiku saying all that semi-unrelated stuff feels really silly, as if this is all just a joke. But then, everyone else is being so serious and humans are learning about vampires and there's the time limit of dawn, which is all pretty serious.
I would've liked some more relaxed chapters getting to know our new characters before getting back into the serious Kiku stuff

The issue with ankos ark was her being so gung ho about killing vampires that you never thought she would ever stop and when she did a complete 180 it just felt completely out of left field. Her development since then made up for it but then it happens again with susuki who seemed hellbent on killing everyone then it turns out she's just a fight happy child who can't take a loss very well. I got a feeling kiku's arc is going to play out the same way.

My issue with Anko's arc was that, for a while, her character was effectively as follows:
>enter scene
>beat up everyone mentally/physically
>exit scene
Which just made her really unpleasant. But yeah, I see what you mean. I'm not even against how all these badass vamps turn over so fast, that's the same with Nazuna and Serie. I think the problem is that we get so little time with the new vamps before moving on.
