How the fuck is Slam Dunk still that high? It ended 30 years ago and its still one of the top-selling manga with no sequel or new anime in all that time.

>had to add an 11
I laughed. Also kimetsu basically became an unsurmountable wall. Bynthr time it's fully fine it'll have exceeded 10 million/volume.

Huh?

That's because the guy is a retard he also doesn't include the fact that Hokuto no Ken, DB and Jojo had re-releases across many years and didnt reach 100 million when hey first came out

Well yeah sure. It was influential I can't deny that. Had some pretty solid drawings and maybe I can't call it shit based on that alone. Bad childish writing all over the place, though.

The Goku pic stands out like a sore thumb with all the other characters being soulful official designs from the original mangaka and the Goku just looking like fanart and certainly subpar for what Toriyama drew

Dragon Ball is tragic because it was built by Toriyama's art being so damn good and yet 90% of the fanbase has no idea of it and just eats up the Toyotaro or Toei slop

And that's predominately WITHOUT The West's help, too. Americans hate sports manga for some reason.
But to put it in better terms, WSJ's circulation plummeted after SlamDunk ended. Slam Dunk ended before any of the Legendary Big Three even began publication. That shit was so popular that the trifecta that made manga a legitimate worldwide phenomenon instead of just being a late 90s fad STILL couldn't revive WSJ's circulation numbers.

Damn. Why would that many people read a manga about normal sports? Like in real life it at least has connections with your nationality and it's a social experience you're sharing with others Then again maybe Slam Dunk is based on real people so maybe they read it for that, idk.
