I hate abstract media. I wanted to love sonny boy more than I did. There were elements I liked the animation premis and character designs and music, but it’s too abstract at times that i feel like i’m not smart enough to understand the message it’s trying to tell. If it is trying to say anything. A lot of the time the people who say they enjoy these anime feels like they don't even understand themselves and are just pretending to get it. It just sucks knowing you have average intelligence and can't enjoy something you really want

I dunno man. I felt like it's the most normalfag friendly anime ever. If there's a show that I can recommend to a normalfag 'cinephile' faggot without having second hand embarrassment about recommending something with usual anime shenanigans like schoolgirl sexualization, brocon sisters or typical shounen power of frenship faggotry in most mainstream shounenshit, it's probably this.
