Nope. It's 1 billion yen in 16 hours, because 1.3M+ people bought first-day tickets, and the average price of a ticket is ¥2000 yen. The Japanese even corrected the guy whose source you’re using, lol.

>What's your most memorable moment when winning the award
In my award winning work, I tried to depict the theme of traditional Japanese clothes, vampires, a strong human that even the vampires fear, and someone who works hard and doesn't let their handicap show. The work is far from perfect. After winning the award, when I work on my one-shots and series, I always thought about wanting to payback those who evaluated my work at that time.
>Please give a message to newcomers who are aiming for Jump New World award
Whether you're drawing a storyboard or manuscript, try to finish it as a whole first before comprehensively evaluating the work overall. You'll learn many things that will help you improve. If you are stuck and stop half way through, try to think carefully what's the cause (for example, is it the character, structure, or the setting that makes the story difficult to develop).
>Editorial comment on "Kagarigari"
The author has a unique sense that standout, but lack enough drawing power to express it. Additionally, the author needs a structure that helps the readers emotionally connect to the characters.

Lmao. You posted a tweet that literally says:
"The devaluation of the yen against the dollar dims the international shine of this mega-success."
Which is exactly what I've been hammering for two straight weeks. So thank you for the self-own and backing me up. Maybe try reading next time before you cheerlead yourself off a cliff like a retard.

Second, this part?
>>280688793
>At its current pace compared to Mugen Train it’s likely to surpass $1 billion globally
Is actual unfiltered brainrot. Mugen Train did $504M worldwide. The idea that Infinity Castle , a film with no China release, weaker overseas legs, a depreciated currency, and no pandemic vacuum is going to double that and hit $1B is so delusional I wouldn't even say it sarcastically on this Chinese chalkboard forum. Let's do math (again) since clearly nobody in your camp passed middle school:
>Domestic (Japan): Let’s say it reaches ¥20B (generous). That's ~$125M USD at today's rate
>Overseas: Maybe, maybe, it scrapes together $60-70M more across Korea, SEA, Taiwan, and some scraps in the US
Total? Best-case $185–200M.
You're not hitting a billion. You’re not hitting Mugen Train’s $370M from Japan. You're not even hitting its global $504M. You're screaming "W!" because it broke a Day 1 record with holiday inflation, IMAX saturation, and merch bundles and you're completely ignoring the drop-off that’s about to body this movie in Week 2. Enjoy your opening day fireworks. Just don't look too closely at the currency conversion, the long tail box office, or the absolute bloodbath of summer competition that’s about to kneecap this thing.

Also, maybe stop posting tweets that support my argument like they're dunks. You're self-owning harder than Netflix stock in 2022.

Did the Mugen Train get a chinese release back then? I know Kimetsu needs plenty of digital censoring to air in China, Tanjiro's earrings are edited, females showing too much skin have 4kids levels of digital clothes being added, etc. Seems like a really tough job to make it into theaters.

Going to the movies nowadays is less about seeing whatever’s good and more about seeing whatever is an “event” whose experience cant be replicated well on a computer screen, and DS is a perfect example of that for western anime fans, even for all the complaints that the story is mid

I really think that boxed set is where they got a ton of sales. Tons of upper middle class kids asked for that and their parents were like well it's better than a videogame. Compared to the usual amerifat thing of buying one fifteen dollar volume 1 of a manga then never touching the rest of it it's a much better strategy to worming print comics back into the US.

You went from pretending Mugen Train was anomaly and Demon Slayer's hype is diminishing to Infinity Castle having more admissions does not matter because it will not due to conversion rates.
You are grasping for any sort of L for Demon Slayer but you will ultimately fail and catch the L yourself.
Next you are gonna pretend Demon Slayer is no longer popular because it could not beat Ne Zha 2.

This story is so airtight in the sense everything that could be explored is over, that you can't truly make more of it.
A prequel wouldn't matter when we know about Yoriichi. A sequel can't be possible when the author killed the thing that created Muzan. The author would have to become the mother of all hacks to continue this somehow.

No. I didn’t underrate anything, I modeled it based on actual market behavior and historical precedent. You're just "feeling" things because you want them to be true, which is how 5-year-olds process box office trends. You act like word of mouth and event cinema are new. "People want to see movies that feel like events!" Yes, and that's been true since Star Wars in 1977. It also doesn’t change:
>The absence of a China release
>The collapsed yen dragging down WW gross
>The glut of summer blockbusters competing for real estate
>And the fact that anime doesn't have a deep enough global base to scale past $1B without miracles
Mugen Train hit $504M at the absolute best possible moment in moviegoing history for a local product. Infinity Castle is not in that moment. It's running in a crowded field, on a weakening currency, in a market no longer deprived of blockbusters. Your "feelings" won’t print another $800M.

No, retard. Not pretending. Stated outright, so keep your mouth shut. And it is an anomaly. Mugen Train was a perfect storm:
>No competition
>Theater monopolization
>Word of mouth feeding on a content drought
>A still-locked-down global industry
>A pandemic that amplified demand for escapism
You cannot replicate that environment. Not even if you slap a billion yen in IMAX tickets onto Day 1.
>Infinity Castle having more admissions does not matter because it will not due to conversion rates!
No, I said it matters less internationally, because you can't brag about admissions when the currency those admissions are priced in is in the toilet. That's not a goalpost move, it's just your retarded underage brain struggling to process the part where ¥1 billion today = way less in real value than in 2020.
>N-Next you are gonna pretend Demon Slayer is no longer popular
Nobody said it wasn't popular. It's clearly a megahit in Japan. I just can't distinguish between being popular and having long-term legs and economic dominance. That's your problem, you think breaking a single-day record means the movie is immortal. No one talks about Mugen Train anymore for a reason except for underage faggots who make up the vast majority of this poorly written manga made for 10-year-old's fanbase and still clinging to his 15 minutes of fame. Spirited Away is still talked about, so is Your Name. They actually left an impact. They're the only two anime films that made it to the Top 100 Greatest Movies of the 21st Centuryand highly regarded by film veterans. Mugen Train tried to submit itself to the Academy Awaerds and got laughed out of the building.

>TL;DR?
Infinity Castle is a financial success. But not Mugen Train 2.
No China, weak yen, crowded market. The ceiling is real.
$1B global is fantasy pulled out of someone's colon.
More admissions =/= more dollars when ticket prices are inflated and currency is devalued.
Opening day =/= box office dominance. Just ask The Flash.

Who is arguing it'll do 800M? Sure, Japan simply doesn't have enough people in it to remake those absolute world breaker numbers outside of Covid. It doesn't change the fact that this is going to be a generation-defining success of a movie in its primary target market.
It's about RoI. This isn't Superman, which is doing good numbers domestically but is ultimately going to be seen as a lukewarm success due to the fact that its budget demands a worldwide hit.

Nothing. It's fast food anime. There's a reason why Spirited Away and Your Name made it to the list of Top 100 Greatest Movies of the 21st Century while Mugen Train didn't make it to the cut. Avengers made it to the cut because it left an impact (for better or worse), so did Spider-Verse that pushed 3D CGI animation to the max. Godzilla Minus One made it too and a Korean drama is at the top so clearly, they have no bias for Asian media. Demon Slayed just isn't art and never will be: it's a cheeseburger anime.

Lmao. This is rich coming from people who were screaming "it's gonna beat Mugen Train!" 48 hours ago. You people pivoted so hard, you've dislocated both your shoulders. Yes, ¥20B is a strong result domestically. Yes, $180-200M global is a solid anime film performance But you're acting like this was always your line. No, chief. You don't get to lower the bar mid-run and then brag about clearing it. This is like someone saying you're going to the Olympics and then calling it a win because you placed top 25 in a regional qualifier.

And now suddenly it’s:
>Why are you so obsessed?
Nah, brat. You're a one-man archive of my existence. You're the Wikipedia editor for my takes, and you're mad that I'm still right.
>All of this essays you post, won't change a single thing.
And yet you keep reading them. Every word. Every thread. Every time. Why? Because you know I'm right. They hurt and they sting your underage ego. I could post just:
>¥160 to the dollar. Still true.
And it would set you off for 7 posts. I'm not trying to "change the market." I'm clapping back against delusional underage fans with logic (something you don't have) and that's exactly why it rattles you. You need this movie to be untouchable and all you showed me is that it's just strong, not historic and not god-tier. Just solid. And that's the real offense to your psyche.

>Demon Slayer shows genuine familial bonds
It doesn't, because Demon Slayer doesn't show you what it means to be a brother and sister and other aspects on what makes a sibling bond beyond just unconditional love, it just tells you and vibes around. Nezuko is such a non-character that you could replace her with a dogand Demon Slayer would be a touching story about a boy trying to save his dog. That's how irrelevant that glorified onahole is. I'd make a power move on you by name-dropping other manga that were more competently written than your poorly written children's comic starting with...
>FMA
Ed and Al is how you write siblings. They argue. They disagree. They support each other fiercely but aren't afraid to call each other out. Their bond is rooted in shared trauma, mutual responsibility, and guilt, not just "brotherly love." It's messy and grounded.
>Ousama Ranking
Daida and Bojji's relationship is not your typical sibling bond. There's resentment, jealousy, regret, and eventual growth. The manga actually gives both characters time to develop individually and together. It doesn't cheap out on forgiveness either; it earns it. Nezuko meanwhile gets written out of the story in favor of the glorified jobbers the Hashira.
>My Girl
Focuses more on fatherhood, but the extended family and sibling-type dynamics are incredibly grounded. There's this unspoken sense of duty and unglamorous love that hits hard.

If your sibling character doesn't grow, struggle, lash out, forgive, regret, or actually affect the plot with agency, then you're just dressing up a plushie and calling it "bond." The author didn't have the emotional intelligence to write a sibling relationship beyond unconditional love and Nezuko isn't a character, she's a Tamagotchi that bites.

>Yeah, yours, considering you brought it up.
Nope. (You) were the one who brought up that fever dream and mocked. You're now pretending I were the one hyping that fantasy, when in reality I said from the start: no China release + shit yen + stiff competition = no way it touches Mugen Train globally, let alone $1B. You screamed "$1B is coming!" until reality slapped you in the face, and now you're retroactively blaming me for predicting what you claimed. That's not a rebuttal, that's a flaming case of projection.
>But more admissions=more people are seeing it=more popularity
Cute sentiment. Completely meaningless for international box office analysis. Why? Admissions =/= Revenue.
Revenue pays studios. Admissions stroke egos. Mugen Train had fewer screens, lower ticket prices, no gimmicks, and worse capacity, and still made more money, that's strength. Infinity Castle padded itself with premium pricing, merch bundles, IMAX bloat, national holiday timing, and still needed every ounce of that inflation to break records by a nose. If admissions are what matter, then go count the number of likes on fanart too, maybe that’ll help your GDP.
>Moving the goalposts to making "less money" because its dollar conversion rate is shit now is retarded,
Lmao. Welcome to the real world where studios measure performance in dollars because they don't pay animators in vibes, faggot. You can't call something the biggest success ever and then ignore that the money it made is worth significantly less than in 2020.

If I hand you 10,000 Venezuelan bolivar for your product, it's technically more than I gave you in 2018, but it also buys you a sandwich. This is like bragging your crypto is "up in coin count" while it tanks 70% in USD. Cope harder, loser.

On the topic of western cultural relevance it's funny how hard JJK cucked MHA out of the "strongest" archetype. All Might was meant to be the Superman stand in but Gojo completely usurped his place. And unlike the westaboo Hori, Gege probably didn't even know about Superman vs. Doomsday, and yet he somehow recaptured the entire appeal of that fight in Gojo vs. Sukuna. Also doesn't help that the actual Superman got a movie while Cuckademia is floundering as well.

Yoriichi isn't a character, he's just a symbol. And Akaza is a badly written character who the author had to do a lot of damage controlling and forced whitewashing in order to redeem him. The "ackshually Akaza never killed any women!!" cope has no impact when you realize Akaza doesn't interact with a single female character in the entire series.

One thing Gege did well was built his story around the strongest beings in his world. The moment Gojo was sealed everything went to shit real fast.
Compared to mha, where a big deal was made about the fall of the symbol of hope there was little change in the story, just a couple offhanded comments about the rise of crime in Japan but in reality there weren't many actual consequences. This mirrors how everyone in the verse says Deku is super heroic but he doesn't actually do much hero work.

Regarding this topic specifically, MHA started out with All Might in a weakened state and in declining health. The same went for All for One. Meanwhile Gojo was not just the strongest of the verse, he was growing stronger as the story went on, same went for Sukuna who gained Megumi's ability to counteract Gojo, something he never had at the height of the heisei era.

My most recent theory/cope is this: we all know these movies will be split into a season later.

WHAT IF...

The 3rd movie ends into either a cliffhanger (Tanjiro's death, Muzanjiro ENTERS) or a very open ending (Tanjiro wakes up after rejecting Muzan) and then UFO announces that the end of the serie is "THE LAST EPISODE" that will air with the TV season, kinda like the Rengoku filler we got for Season 2?

A single episode (probably a 45min special) is quite different from an entirely new season, but it would still make the 3rd movie much more feasible since they would have SO MUCH SHIT to cram if the movie is also supposed to cover the epilogue.....

Yeah, cry about your badly written manga being called out for being badly written.

And I still don't give a fuck about what normalfag Japanese think. Japan, like anywhere else, is deeply susceptible to mediocrity, comfort, and idol culture.

This is the same country that:
>Thought Akira Kurosawa was a bad director
>Let Hiroyuki Sanada, Japan'a most refined dramatic actor since Toshiro Mifune struggle in domestic obscurity so he had to go to Hollywood to be appreciated while Takuya Kimura reigned as a wooden idol-actor for two decades
>Snubbed masterpieces like Shogun despite it being one of the best portrayals of Japanese feudal history in decades
So no, "what Japan likes" is not a valid arbiter of artistic value.

Yoriichi = symbol, not character
Akaza = retrofitted, sanitized anti-villain
Appeal to popularity = fallacy
Japan's mainstream taste = not proof of literary value

Not possible anymore. The hope for a exclusive movie for Koku was UFO moving the Zenitsu find around for the 2nd movie. There's no universe where Douma gets a 2 hour movie all for himself, it would need obscene amounts of padding and there's no business incentive for a movie without Tanjiro where the 3 most featured characters are not in the Top 5 in popularity.

At this point, there's little doubt that Movie 2 covers both Douma and Koku.

3rd movie is just confusing cause it's gonna need to be DAMN long.

I disagree, but I'm not confident about this hunch. I feel like an extra special episode would "justify" the "rehashed material" season better, just like the Rengoku filler. You're panicking so hard now that your fan fantasy is collapsing that you're trying to say you secretly hope it hits $1B so you can cope about it even though I've clearly and repeatedly shown why it won't. That's not just goalpost moving, that's hallucinating a whole new football field.

I don't know if your retarded ass can comprehend this
but a weaker currency exchange works in favor of kny overall profit as other currencies will bring more money comparable to when the yen was stronger. Ufotable studio pays their employees on yen. they produce by buying in yen etc.

Sony has already explictiy said this in their financial report, such as their games section. Infinity castle is likely to be far more profitable if the international numbers remain the same or become better (especially in US). Even when the YEN > usd box office conversion is "weak" that doesn't really matter to the bottom line.

>I am clearly not the one crying
Yes, you fucking are, lmao. You're replying. Repeatedly. With zero arguments and nothing but smug ego-huffing about popularity like that somehow makes the writing good. You've been emotionally flailing from the moment someone called your favorite toy "poorly written." You're seething behind a thin veil of smugness. Every word you type is just tears rerouted into snark.
>as a Demon Slayer fan I am happy
You're not happy, you're defensive. If you were truly content, you wouldn't still be trying to justify why you think it's good by pointing to how many people bought into it. That's not confidence, dipshit. That’s validation addiction. You're not defending art, you're jist defending your identity because someone dared to pull the veil off your dopamine-feeding golden calf.
>and enjoying overwhelming popularity
I don't give a FUCK about your badly written manga made for greasy losers, underage children and old hags going apeshit over it, rofl. You've just admitted you value sales over quality. You're literally saying "I like it because it’s popular." That’s NPC-tier media consumption. You don't actually like stories, you like hype trains and consumer success. And you're not a fan of Demon Slayer, you're just a pathetic Black Clover faggot who's a parasite sucking clout from its popularity because nobody gave your bog standard medieval Naruto copycat the time of day. Your taste is determined by how many other people liked something, not why it's worth liking.

>the likes of which your favorites will never see.
Yeah, because actual art doesn't pander. Great stories, stories with subtlety, depth, emotional honesty, and layered characters don't trend with dopamine-starved underage brats who need crying flashbacks and sword particle effects to feel something. The best stories aren't always the most sold, they're the most remembered by people with a brain. Phoenix, Nausicaa, A Bride's Story, Vagabond, Pluto, Shin Angyo Onshi. Spirited Away and Your Name are also still talked about while Mugen Train is already irrelevant 5 years later. Aniplex tried to submit Mugen Train into the Academy Awards and wanted validation from the film industry but were promptly rejected and laughed out of the building. Spirited Away won an Oscar and Your Name was nominated, both works will age like wine. Demon Slayer will age like a TikTok trend.
>Meanwhile you keep grasping for a virtual L
Nah, I'm not grasping. Your spine's been turned into a mop for multiple posts straight. The L is not virtual, it's tattooed on your forehead in Comic Sans. Your only rebuttals have been:
>"It's popular!"
>"Cope!"
>"I'm not mad, YOU’RE mad!"
>"Look at the anime!"
>Your'e moving the goalpost
This is what fanboys say when they don't understand the conversation. No one moved shit. You've been flailing between "it's good writing," "it's popular," "it made me cry," and "look at the animation." I held the same line since the start:
>Demon Slayer is poorly written.
>The characters are shallow.
>Popularity is not proof of quality.
>Japan's mainstream does not define artistic merit. This is the country that thinks Kurosawa is a bad director and dismissed Sanada while Takuya Kimura ruled the industry with an iron fist.
No goalpost moved. You're just too retarded to keep up.

>A weaker currency exchange works in favor of kny overall profit since foreign currency brings in more yen
Yeah, no shit, retard. That's true for Sony's internal accounting, not for box office reporting or global impact which is what I've been debating for two weeks. I'm not talking about whether Ufotable gets a fat backend bonus, I'm talking about media reach, franchise dominance, and global prestige. And by that metric? The weak yen cripples the perception.
>Mugen Train in 2020: ¥40.4B = ~$370M USD
>Infinity Castle in 2025: ¥40.4B = ~$255M USD
Same audience, same money, but 30% less value on the global leaderboard. So yeah, if your only goal is for Ufotable to buy more curry rice, then congrats. But if you’re screaming "TOP 10 GLOBAL!" like your dumbass has for a whole year, then the weak yen mathematically erases your flex.
>Sony graph
Yes, the slide shows FX impact helping revenue totals. Again, for internal revenue reporting, not theatrical performance comparisons across time or borders. But you're either too retarded or completely ignored the rest of the same report:
>FX Impact: +419.8 billion yen in sales.
>But Operating Income? -28% despite that.
In other words: Yen inflation pumped up the sales line, but actual profitability tanked because foreign exchange volatility also increases costs, especially for overseas marketing, distribution, and partnerships. You think you dropped a nuke. But you actually posted evidence that currency distortion bloats raw revenue but can obscure the real performance of the business.

Also, box office success is not just about raw yen. It's about optics, prestige, chart rankings, and worldwide dominance. None of which are counted in ¥. If you want global bragging rights, you're measured in USD, not "how many vending machine tokens Ufotable can now afford."

Cool story, faggot. Half of 4chan are Reddit posts. The internet isn't a turf war, this is not West Side Story. Nobody gives a fuck where you post when the points I'm making are bulletproof. And let's be real, you're not mad I post on Reddit. You're mad I post with clarity, receipts, and economic literacy (something you failed at) and it makes your reactionary fanboy posting look like emotional diarrhea.
>h-he got doxxed!!
First off, you're not actually "doxxing" me. You're just obsessively screenshotting my posts across a public platform, which ironically just makes me the main character of every thread I'm in. That's stalker behavior, not a flex. Also, imagine proudly announcing:
>"We couldn't beat this guy's logic, so we had to find his Reddit posts and whine about it for days!"
You’re not "exposing" anyone. You're exposing yourself as completely owned. You're so thoroughly clowned by my posts that your only comeback is 'he uses Reddit!' Not one rebuttal. Not one correction. Just stalking and shrieking. Rent-free doesn't even begin to describe it.

Does this movie even benefit from being in IMAX? I thought the whole gimmick of IMAX was that the screen opens up beyond a standard 16:9 ratio. They don't really draw frames that extend beyond 16:9 though. I'm still going to watch it in IMAX, but I feel like the only benefit this movie is getting is just the louder audio and larger screen that usually comes with IMAX.

That's your problem, you think breaking a single-day record means the movie isimmortal. Noone talks about Mugen Train anymore for a reason except for underage faggots who make up the vast majority of this poorly written manga made for 10-year-old's fanbase and still clinging to his 15 minutes of fame.

First off, I don't care about MHA. Second, One Piece is the best selling manga of all time with no equal and will stay that way forever. And unlike the Demon Slayer, Oda has the privilege to make money from both the Toei anime, the Wit anime AND the movies. The Demon Slayer hack wasn't paid a dime for the money and only got once for Mugen Train: a measly $10K. Dragon Ball is second and Naruto is the popular anime in the Western market.

In the end, I think there's too much pressure not to delay the Genshin anime until 2031.

KnY keeps almost all of UFO's hands on deck all the time, so they don't intend to delay the end of the franchise more than what is needed to deliver a top product and print lots of money. It's a pity. Not the most ideal outcome, but meh, it's still better than what 99% of anime will ever get.

As I said, I still think there will be a "goodbye episode" included in the TV version of Infinity Castle, as it would not demand another year of hands tied to produce a 45min. special.

Yoriichi = symbol, not character
Akaza = retrofitted, sanitized anti-villain
Appeal to popularity = fallacy
Japan's mainstream taste = not proof of literary value

If you want global bragging rights, you're measured in USD, not "how many vending machine tokens Ufotable can now afford."

>r-redditor!!

>You’re inept at financial stuff
Except I literally:
>Accurately distinguished between internal currency benefits for Sony vs. global box office optics in USD.
>Cited FX impact inflating sales figures without masking operating income drops.
>Explained that ranking and perception, not just local yen returns, matter for measuring international dominance.
Your counterargument is absolutely nothing. Just vague posturing like:
>Y-You don’t understand finance like I do, bro!!
If you were half as "experienced" as he claim, you'd drop:
>EBITDA margins
>Localization spend vs. domestic ROI
>International distro contracts
>Comparative FX-adjusted grosses
But nope. All you got is:
>I feel superior because I said so.
Which is textbook Dunning-Kruger syndrome. Idiots who wants to act like they're smart. I'm not arguing that te movie won’t make yen, I'm arguing that the yen it makes is now worth less internationally so bragging about rankings is pointless.

That's not "fake finance," that's just basic economics (which you don't understand), and you have no rebuttal because it's undeniably true. I'm doing foreign exchange math. You're doing anime-tier cope fanboyism.

Your goal isn't truth, it's looking smug in front of your Discord mutuals in your samefag thread. That's why you're:
>Screenshotting my posts
>Accusing people of "coping"
>Waving your arms around like a YouTube finance bro
But notice that you never addressed the actual numbers. Because he can't. You're just an idiotic child who doesn't know a single thing every time you start yapping.

It's very obvious that Koyoharu Gotouge isn't doing anything right now because he just isn't really up to the task let alone capable of being a prolific multi-work mangaka like Akira Toriyama, Rumiko Takahashi, Yoshihiro Togashi, Takehiko Inoue or even Hiro Mashima.

Demon Slayer will be the peak and sole entry in his entire career all in large part thanks to Ufotable, Aniplex and Sony Music. He's never done anything else before or since to have a proven track record. Gege, however, seems to be very capable of making another hit manga. So in a way, he's like Aka (who's also a hack, but has a very prolific career unlike Gotouge) and even Horikoshi seems to be up for the task as he's very passionate about drawing and his art only got better (Gotouge's art never improved much).

No shit, retard. I've been consistent. I use evidence, I present real numbers, and I argue the same projections across platforms. That's called having a coherent argument, not a "ban evading hate boner." If the worst thing you can say is "this guy also posts on Reddit," you've already lost the plot. Also, what's your angle here?
>"You made accurate predictions on two websites! GOTCHA!"
You're having a breakdown because I'm consistent and correct, rofl.

Thanks for confirming that I've been consistent and accurate across platforms. Meanwhile, your receipts are just Reddit screenshots like a jilted ex-girlfriend.

I break down currency shifts and global box office legs. You break into a cold sweat and post my username like it's Voldemort. You're not debating, you're heckling. And heckling is what losers do when the scoreboard isn't on their side.

My track record thus far:
>"Infinity Castle would be frontloaded."
Proven.
>"The weak yen would tank its global USD footprint."
Proven.
>"I predict a ¥15-20B ceiling in Japan."
It's still in range.
>I said fandom cope would be through the roof
And I'm seeing the evidence live, rofl

So yeah, you can mock the username all you want. But unless you come back with hard math, it's all just whiny noise from a kid losing an argument he thought was a slam dunk.

Toriyama will still be remembered far longer than Koyoharu Gotouge who already faded out in obscurity and the public don't really care about. Tezuka chose him as his heir apparent and Tomino named him in the top 3 most important mangaka in Japan. Oda and Tezuka too. They're pretty much rock stars in the manga world. Gotouge is a dime a dozen like Kubo is.

Can someone tell me what the relevance even is for Giyuu vs Akaza. There's no emotional connection. Giyuu doesn't have emotions at all, he's boring. Shouldn't it have been someone who actually cares about Rengoku? I know Tanjiro, but teaming up with othera that cared about him. Not the beep boop robot.

All that cocksucking Oda gets is justified when he single-handedly carries that magazine on his back and keeps it alive. Everyone should suck his cock and then some more since it's thanks to Oda that every slop mangaka you like has a job in the first place.

It's also thanks to Oda that Demon Slayer is even published on Jump BTW.

Mugen train was originally being made as episodes before being turned into a movie. There are several sections where you can tell when an episode would have ended and where the next one would have began. It looked really good despite that, but I still think the best that KnY has looked visually is the end of Red Light District

Yup. No Oda, no Jump, no Demon Slayer, no Black Clover, no Jujutsu Kaisen, no Chainsaw Man (though it was a bomb anyway).
>"One Piece Saved Shonen Jump." - Kazuhiko Torishima
>According to Torishima's recent interview, after Dragon Ball ended, Weekly Shonen Jump suffered from poor sales and a lack of new talent. Toriyama's style and work were so revolutionary that it took some time for a new generation of artists to come out, who had learned the lessons of the master. That's when Eiichiro Oda and One Piece came along, in 1997, before Kishimoto made his debut in 1999 with Naruto, and Tite Kubo with Bleach in 2001.

>Many fans believe that after Dragon Ball ended its serialization, Naruto became Shōnen Jump's saving grace, but according to Torishima, this is far from the truth. In a recently released interview with Imaginez with Discovery, legendary manga editor Torishima mentioned that One Piece almost didn’t make it to serialization. While it is hard to imagine a world without Oda’s masterpiece, higher-ups at Shōnen Jump (including Torishima) initially doubted the potential of One Piece, but, after seeing the passion that Oda held for the series and the lack of available talent at the time, they decided to give the series a shot
Every time a new manga succeeds? It's all because of GODA.

Far as I remember, only stuff like Lord of the Rings or Avengers: Endgame even comes close to that runtime.

The audio is the most underappreciated part of this adaptation
It feels like the OST never reuses a single track despite having a theme for each character. Mugen Train's OST in particular may be one of my favorites in the medium
https://youtu.be/TbnoDFKxens?si=FqIRVVZo6axTKtsK&t=701
But more than that the single best part of the adaptation, even better than the animation, is the voice acting. Natsuki Hanae's performance is literally 10/10 perfection. It's the role he was born to play

KnY, including its TV series, uses a film scoring approach similar to what you see in Disney or Ghibli films — creating custom soundtracks tailored to each individual sequence.
This method delivers a level of immersion that completely blows the typical “recycled OST” system out of the water.
Honestly, I have no idea why more anime don’t adopt the same approach. It baffles me.

humans are weak but have big numbers, their strategy until now was throwing hunters at them until they got the job done. They even say the org was almost wiped out multiple times. Yeah, the visuals were absolutely insane — felt more like a full-on visual attraction than a movie.
But I couldn’t help noticing that Tanjiro felt kinda nerfed compared to the manga, while Giyuu definitely got buffed.
It really felt like Giyuu was the one leading the fight, and Tanjiro was more of a surprise-power sidekick than the main driver.

Kaigaku is on a weird limbo between Daki (pretend UM6) and Gyuutaro (real UM6), even if not quite strong as Gyuutaro he still is a demon with Breathing arts, something that is noted to be strongly difficult to accomplish as explained by Kokushibo.

While I’m glad the fight scenes are ultimate quality, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a bit conflicted.
It doesn’t feel like a fight between a Hashira and a demon anymore — it looks more like a Holy Grail War, probably Saber vs Berserker or some shit.
Hashiras are supposed to be just strong humans, not superpowered beings. Their power level should be more or less on par with Baki characters at best.

Of course, I get it — from a marketing perspective, having them tear through an open-world-style Infinity Castle in flashy 3D sequences is what draws crowds.
But still... I can’t shake the feeling that Ufotable — along with KnY’s explosive popularity — has turned it into something it was never meant to be.

Stop Grok (or any machine translation without nuance). It's 2 billion yen, not 20, rofl. The source you're citing is being stylized for dramatic effect but are still numerically correct, 2 billion yen = 約 $12.5M USD. Grok likely saw "20" and spat out "20 billion" without understanding the full monetary context or applying common sense, because if it had made 20 billion yen (~$125M) in 34 hours, it'd be rewriting the laws of physics.

Anyway, it's a monster start and fastest to 2B yen ever is no joke. But again, my point stands: it's not Mugen Train 2.0 unless it keeps those legs moving week after week, and it won't benefit from the open field Mugen had.

Hell, the 2 billion yen is textbook frontloading. This 2 billion yen in 34 hours isn't the flex some people think it is, it's the warning sign I've been screaming about from day one:
>massive start =/= strong legs
2B yen in 34 hours is absurdly fast. But that's exactly the kind of spike you expect from:
>national holiday
>IMAX/4DX saturation
>merch-bundled tickets
>fanbase marathoning it like it's a national sport
All of that concentrates earnings in the first 24-48 hours. That's not sustainable, and definitely not organic. If we do the math, if this pace somehow continued, you'd expect ¥2B every 1.5 days and that's like ¥10B in just over a week. But you know it won’t hold that because Day 1 was artificially juiced. Mugen Train slow-burned into ¥40.4B over an entire year because:
>no competition
>no distractions
>empty cinema schedules
>repeat viewing wasn't just fan service, it was the only thing to do
Infinity Castle doesn't have that luxury. Jurassic World, Kamen Rider and even Fantastic Four are all looming and they all want their spot on IMAX/4DX, especially Jurassic World that's actually build for 4DX unlike Demon Slayer (it's 2D).

She tried acting like a main character, then Douma gave her a reality check that she's nothing more but a side character and she started crying like a little bitch, got consumed, and then got written out of her own battle by Inosuke and Kanao, a comic relief character and another side character.

A fight is about who's left standing. Nothing else. She didn't live to see her victory, thus, she is a loser.

Big opening, but couldn't sustain the wave

That’s literally what’s happening with Infinity Castle vs Mugen Train.
>Mugen Train
Huge opening, but spread over soft-capacity days
Unmatched, ran for a whole year
General public + fans
Regular screens, minimal inflation
COVID vacuum
Self-contained, rewatch friendly
>Infinity Castle
Explosive frontload legs
TBD, but likely sharp falloff
Mostly fans, maxed early
Bloodbath summer

No matter what he says, what he copes about
The facts are
>it'll be among the biggest anime movies ever, likely top 5. making hundreds of millions
>manga is the best selling in terms of per volume and is still selling.
>merch is selling like hotcakes
>we're going to get 2 more high qualtiy films. and he'll seethe about that for years
>kimetsu created unbreakable records for itself, both manga and anime and movie AND merch sales

The funniest part of your samefag meltdown is how you're proving my entire point while thinking you're owning me, lmfao.
>It sure is drawing in more people from the get go than the first one.
That's exactly what fatigue looks like in a franchise that still has a loyal base but has burned its general appeal. I'd lay it out for you simply: Yes, more people came on opening weekend. But that doesn't disprove burnout. It proves frontload (look up that term). Hype train fans cram in early. But you already shot your shot. You don't sustain without the mainstream showing up after.

Mugen Train didn't hit ¥40B by flash-mobbing Day 1. It stayed in theaters forever, got rewatched by normalfags, grandmas, couples on dates, salarymen, and people who don't even watch anime. That's legs, baby.

Infinity Castle is:
>We dumped the entire fanbase into Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and now the general public is like, 'Wait, there's three movies?'
>muh top 5 movie ever!!
Sure. By yen. Which is in freefall. Top 5 in local currency doesn't mean top 5 globally or culturally. Right now, 1 US dollar buys more bragging rights than ¥160 worth of cope. You're about to have:
>One of the highest-grossing anime films in Japan
>But only a mid-tier global performer by USD
Those are not mutually exclusive. But underage fanboys like yourself can't process nuance.
>s-still selling! still popular! merch is hot!!
Never said Demon Slayer was dead. That's a strawman so dried out it could catch fire in a microwave. What you said was:
>This is peak again!
What reality says is:
>This is a strong but narrowing peak.
You don't break through the ¥40B ceiling just by having raw fans. You need everyone to show up: normalfags, outsiders, anime casuals, repeatedly. And this ain't that.

You're still not refuting my core argument, because you know you can't. I've laid out:
>The frontload vs legs distinction (accurate)
>The weakened yen impact on global box office prestige (true)
>The Mugen Train miracle circumstances vs Infinity Castle’s engineered spike (undeniable)
And what's your response?
>"Haha meltdown janny seethe rangeban iron fist KEKAROO"
That's not a rebuttal. That's just someone screaming into a pillow because they can't read a box office chart without Googling what "yen" means. You're completely incapable of addressing my actual points, so you're trying to meme me into submission.
>And anyone should care about that because...
Doesn't matter what you feel, I'm still 100% correct. You're just mad because it hits a nerve. Infinity Castle is...
>Absolutely one of the biggest anime films in Japan, no doubt about that.
>It is not going to hit global dominance on the level of Mugen Train.
>Has no China release
>Is bottlenecked by a collapsing currency
>Is frontloaded like a fire sale
That's not an insult, it's just economics. But if I point it out, apparently I'm "crying and seething." You really are just a child who knows nothing.
>you are mad at it and spend every waking moment posting about it, in 15-20 minute intervals
Nah. If anything, you're mad I won and you want to pretend I didn't. And I'll keep posting, because that's called consistency. Meanwhile, you refresh the thread just to scream “kek” and samefag your way into thinking you're right.

Surely? Because:
>I said Infinity Castle would be frontloaded. It is.
>I said ¥15-20B domestic ceiling. It's currently at ~¥2B after 2 days. I'm still well within range.
>I said the USD conversion would cripple its global bragging rights. Literally backed by every major tweet and media outlet, including the one (You) posted.
>I said it wouldn’t beat Mugen Train globally. There's still no China release. $500M is not getting matched.
>I said it'd be a box office event, but not a generational phenomenon like Mugen Train. And it's tracking exactly that way.
You're calling it all wrong because you wants me to be wrong, not because I am (you know I'm right). That's called copium-induced reality distortion.
>It's like the powers that be or whatever is trolling him
This is loser talk. This is what someone says when they can't logically refute my point but need to believe I'm somehow cosmically cursed for your ego to survive, rofl. It's like saying, "You’re losing because fate said so!" Which is just a loser's way to say, "I don’t have a better argument, so I'll pretend reality itself is my wingman."
>>280712850
Cool story, dipshit. I never said Japan's economy would "affect" ticket sales. I said the yen's collapse affects international perception and USD-based comparisons. That's a currency value argument, not an economic depression claim. The value of those ¥20 billion yen (if it even gets there) is now $125M, not $185M like in 2020. That absolutely matters for global charts, rankings, and prestige.

Even the tweet you posted and thought was a "W" showed Infinity Castle "broke Mugen Train’s record" with less dollar value. That's my point in a nutshell. I didn't Google Japan's economy for fun, I used basic macroeconomics, and you're so allergic to reality you interpreted that as a witchcraft ritual. Again, you're nothing more but a stupid child who knows nothing.

Your samefaggotry won't make it true, no matter how much you try to scream it to the clouds. Tomino already name-dropped the three 3 most important mangaka: Osamu Tezuka aka the Father of Manga (Astro Boy), Akira Toriyana aka Tezuka's successor and the man who made the most popular manga ever (Dragon Ball) and Eiichiro Oda aka the man behind the greatest selling manga of all time and soon the greatest selling comic in human history (One Piece).

Demon Slayer is just another trend. And when the anime ends, the franchise ends.

Not even close, rofl. I'd math this out again, slowly, so even your emotionally unstable Demon Slayer faggot ass can process it through the fog of IMAX fumes and Shounen Jump-induced brainrot:
>Japan box office (domestic)
I'd be very generous, if it legs it out and hits ¥25B, at the current exchange rate of ¥160/$1, that's ~$155M.
>Overseas (optimistic scenario)
Let's say it does well in Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and gets a semi-decent US release. Maybe that pulls in another $70-80M max.

Total global? You're looking at $220-230M in a dream scenario. And that's being kind. So where the fuck are you getting $600M from, lmao? Magic? The spirit of Rengoku whispering in your ears? Crunchyroll NFTs? That number would require either:
>A massive China release (not happening)
>Western breakout success beyond anime fandom (never happened outside of Mugen Train)
>Or an exchange rate miracle (lol, good luck with that, yen's hitting record lows)

And One Piece sold the most copies, therefore it's the greatest. One Piece holds the Guinness World Record for most copies sold by a single author, a record that was surpassed only by... One Piece itself.

One Piece is Michael Jordan, Demon Slayer is Jeremy Lin. One viral season, one trendy explosion and no legacy. Every single manga on Jump, including your beloved Demon Slayer, only exists thanks One Piece saving that magazine from dying after the collapse of Dragon Ball ending. Oda is also in the top 10 highest selling authors, surpassing even the creator of Harry Potter. Gotouge is a dime a dozen, who the public don't care about while Oda is the most powerful mangaka in Japan and a celebrity.

Overall sales >>> muh sales per volume.

So cry more. One Piece sold 523M copies which is double the sales of Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, ChInsaw Man, My Hero Academia and Black Cloved all combined. And last time its sales were updated was back in 2022, so as of now, estimates are well over 550M+. It outsold Batman's entire lifetime worth of 85 years and became the second best selling comic ever. And it just needs another 50 million to outsell Superman, the best selling comic in human history. That's also why Oda also has net worth of over 200M. He makes money from both Toei and Wit Studio. Gotouge doesn't, he doesn't get a single penny from the anime and was only paid as a one-time deal of $10K for Mugen Train. He's not getting any money from the Infinity Castle movies.

Your baby series is nothing more but a small fish in a big pond.

Oda owns One Piece and he's an industry by himself. Gotouge doesn't own Demon Slayer, he's just another ex-Jump mangaka whose IP got adopted by a production company and used to sell popcorn and plushies.

Nope. Success in literature = total units sold, sustained demand, cultural influence, and brand value. Not price per copy, especially when price isn't set by the author in manga.

And in manga, all volumes are priced the same, this isn't Sotheby's auctioning a signed Gutenberg Bible. It's mass-market serialized entertainment. You're trying to imply:
>D-Demon Slayer selling fewer books at a higher rate per volume means more value or prestige!!
And that's not how manga or publishing works. Value in this space isn't about price per copy, it's about reach, cultural footprint, and market consistency.

I'd flip this analogy against (You). One Piece is like selling 100,000 albums over 25 years, topping the charts every year, influencing the entire music industry. Demon Slayer is like one viral single that hit #1 once because of a massive marketing push and timing, and then the artist retired immediately. So guess what, faggot?

The legacy artist is ALWAYS more successful, because they built something that lasted.
>>280713360

One Piece got a live-action TV show backed up by Hollywood (unlike Demon Slayer who's still seeking Hollywood's approval), who put a LOT of deep money into it. It has a budget of of $200M and each episode costs $25M to produce, making it more expensive than...
>Game of Thrones
Which costs $6-15M to produce.
>The Mandalorian
Which costs $12-15M to produce.
>Stranger Things
Which costs $6-12M to produce.
>The Witcher
Which costs $10M to produce.

One Piece is more profitable in the long-term while Demon Slayer flatlined itself hard. When the anime ends, the franchise ends.

JImbo's case? Perceived popularity.
OP's series wishes it made that much money, or the MHA movie he propped up.

Still waiting for that $200M Demon Slayer live-action though.

Live-action, especially one backed up by Hollywood, is the final form for anime and where you REALLY know you made it into the mainstream. Hollywood put a LOT of money into One Piece because they saw gold, meanwhile Demon Slayer is desperately trying to get Hollywood's validation with Aniplex trying to submit Mugen Train into the Academy Awards but were rejected and laughed out of the building, rofl. One Piece graduated from anime. Demon Slayer is stuck in the anime ghetto. Might get a live-action, but a shitty low budget one made in Japan with shitty Japanese acting.

>most expensive show per episode
>yet it looked cheaper and was more cringe than a CW show

That HAD to be some money laundering scheme
