Kirakira Precure A La Mode Movie! Let's La Cooking! short review!

I actually thought the movie was going to be like Dream Stars animation because of this short. Its silly, and far better than whatever that shit ass youtube thing is.

Summary for the anons that need it: Mafu, Aroma, Pafu, and Pekorin are gathered together to make cookies and its going well for letting fairies do all the work. While the other fairies are pretty blase about the process, Pekorin is very fierce in her need to make perfect cookies. As she works out the flower, she sends little Pafu to the basement for another ingrident. Pafu not much smarter than an average four year old given the vaguest of instructions grabs a vase mentioned and adds it to the mix. As everything comed together a snake slowly emerges from the mix. Everyone sits stunned, just before the snake begins chasing and getting rather large. The fairies dash out of the building with the snake achieving fairy-eating size. As the fairies fly upwards the snake turns into a dragon and Pekorin realizes the ingrident was some dragon ass shit. The higher they reach the harder Aroma has to work to keep Mofu safe and the cookie dowugh dragon is starting to power up its fire breathe. Pekorin realizes they have the wands and calls for the audience to help shield them. Turns out the Audience is the MPV as the shield reflects the dragon breath back and cookes the cookie dough. The fairies lay in the dragon remains blissfully consuming their foe. Afterwards the fairies are decorating more cookies when they turn to find another cookie dough snake laughing along with them.

There isn't too much to say about this short, outside of laughing about the fairies forcing an innocent animal to cook itself to death. Its funny, and its a silly way to get the kids ready to use the miracle wand. The biggest critique in this is that Pekorin was a bit of a bitch screaming at Pafu about getting the ratios right.

So now comes the big summary as we get into the summary as this movie was surprisingly dense compared to a normal episode. Without further ado:

Crispy! The Mille-feuille of Memories!
Summary part 1 or 5(min) for the anons that need it: The girls are in Paris and have set up shop in front of the Eiffel Tower. Things are cooking nicely, with Ciel putting on a show for her entrance interview with Ichika playing the comic relief. Suddenly a rumble shakes the shop and everyone runs. Outside a Mysterious monster has appeared and begins running amuck. The Cures are instantly in action transforming right there and try for a quick take down, but this is no MoTW and Parfait is captured and the monster places a seal on her forehead before throwing her to the ground. As the dust settles Parfait finds out she is no longer human, but in fairy mode. The monster flees the scene letting out a mocking sort of sound. Cue opening credits with a montage of the girls doing their shop activities and just having general fun around paris. After the credits the girls are at a large gathering of all the Patissiers competing; well all and including the Maho girls who have snuck in on a secret mission. But there is one missing Jean-Pierre who quickly confronts Ciel for appearing; she headbutts him in return. Pierre takes the girls off to his shop where Ciel introduces them all to the man that taught her and her brother everything. Pierre is a rather eccentric man, one nearly blindly obsessed with making HIS dessert to the point he forget to pay the bills. Turns out though that Pierre has had some help as his own fairy pops out of his desserts book going on about making the ultimate dessert. The baffling display of Pierre and Kuuku is felt none harder than by Ciel. Ciel then discusses how she's been quite off the past few days and discusses it with Pierre, deciding to show him her problem. Just as Ciel starts she drops an egg.

Summary part 2 of 5: As Ciel works she explains to the girls her's and Pikario's life story in Paris, on meeting Pierre and the magnificient ability he had to never back down on desserts; even dancing to dodge crows while he stirred some batter. After all the chaos Pierre presented the two with a Mille-feuille, and both fairies began projectile vomitting pure Kira-kira for hours. They begged for Pierre to teach them, but he would not, but offered them a chance to work in his shop if they stayed out of the way. As they worked, Pikario fell by the wayside as Kirarin became as singularly minded as Pierre, only to suddenly transform. Pierre didn't even notice her as he was too concerned about his pudding. As Ciel nearly completes her dessert, Pekorin finds the magic item of the movie and Pierre offers Pekorin to keep it. With Ciel's dessert finished she has Pierre try it who begins ripping her a new one claiming she is so weak because she relies on others. Ciel mopes about for the rest of the night, but gets up nice and early ready to try her hands at the cooking competition. Its bad, she is shaking too much. The girls take over and she gives constant commands slowly building up a Mille-feuille of her own. With the dessert nearly done, screams are heard. Chasing them down, the girls find Patisserie after Patisserie failing impossibly hard. Another scream and the next Patisserie is getting the same curse treatment as Ciel. The monster runs outside and when confronted with normal people it runs away. The girls realize its going only after Patisserie, and they run as well with Ichika saving the Mille-feuille.

Pierre ripping into Ciel was a little surprising and I'm not sure what the aim fully was there with being your own judge.

Summary part 3 of 5: At Pierre's he comments how long Kuuku has been gone, before the girls show up to make sure he's alright as well. They ask Pierre to try this dessert to possibly redeem Ciel, but he refuses and shows them the ULTIMATE DESSERT he's been building in his basement. Baffled by this development Kuuku reveals herself as the monster before and curses Pierre's other creations to begin running amok in the town. The Cures, minus Parfait, give chase and try to put down the monsters. It takes a bit to gain the upper hand, while Kuuku is baffled by the Cure's abilities. Finally she curses the cures into strange animals; Turtle Whip, Penguin Custard, Sloth Gelato, Panda Macaron, and Crawdad Chocolat. The Cures are completely overwhelmed as they fail all over the place. But Custard figures things out using the canal for speed, and Chocolat merely attacking backwards. Gelato gets lucky and flies around on a tart haphazardly pewing everything. Macaron just enjoys using Whip as a swing toy. During this time Parfait has run back to Pierre and is begging to stop all this, but to no avail. The Mahos show up and take care of the rest of the monsters and send the Kirakiras off to confront Pierre as well; they take a taxi because they are so slow. Turtle Whip attempts some sort of attack, ramping off Parfait, only to slap into a wall. This action forced the second to last ingredient to activate the ultimate dessert, and ghost man observes no kirakira coming off such a grand dessert. There is none because the last ingredient isn't there, informing Pierre he is the last ingredient.

Summary part 4 of 5: The cake gobbles him up like some hentai monster, much to Pierre's ecstacy. The ultimate Dessert Monster activates and bursts through Pierre's home and descends butt-first on the Eiffel tower. There Kuuku has the monster start turning all of Paris into a sweets paradise. Kirarin sits determined to save Pierre, but as she goes to transform again, the curse slaps her again freezing her mid transformation. The miracle wand Pekorin got earlier glows and multiplies itself to all Paris citizens who begin offering the light, with the audience of course, to help Ciel break the curse and become Parfait. But the magic is so strong not only does it break the curse, it breaks Kuuku's weapon to hit people with it, and gives the rest of the Cures their super form. The Cures are off dodging Big Baddie until finally Parfait reaches the monster and begs Pierre to remember her; proceeding to have a rather kid friendly fantasy about Pierre wanting her to save him or kill him. For Parfait's obviously indecent thoughts, she in particular is thrown into Notre Dame to repent her sins. With Parfait out, the monster begins picking off the cures two by two. But Parfait isn't out, she headbutts the hell out of the monster knocking the Eiffel tower over. Pekorin approaches and the closer she gets the harder the Mille-feuille fights her and begins tranforming into the Ultimate Monster Cure; just needs the finishing touches. The girls Cures come together to make a giant whipped topping with Parfait and Whip actually whipping, while the others use magical glowsticks to to defend them.

Summary Part 5 of 5: And when that doesn't work Whip and Parfait dance like Pierre showed them. With the dessert finished they enter the belly of the beast and feed it to Pierre who recovers. Kuuku isn't out though and replaces herself with Pierre. This is an easy mop-up job now and the cures do the usual purification, disintegrating Kuuku all together. Afterward the Eiffel tower is still on its side and Pierre's shop is gone, and the girls still have a competition to do; Ciel comes in second and vows to fight on. Roll credits as a little girl approaches Pierre's temporary shop; who could she be? The cures fix the Eiffel Tower. And finally the girls have a little more general fun as Paris tourists.

I do appreciate that Ciel didn't win at the end, and was pretty tickled that after all that all magic was removed, but the destruction was left over. I loved it.

I'm rewatching Hugtto and it's still definitely one of my favorite seasons. Just finished the Halloween episode on my rewatch.
Third cour is a little weaker overall than the first 2 cour, but the third cour tends to be the weak point of most seasons anyways and the quality drop is very slight. It helps that 31 and 35 are still 2 of my personal favorite episodes in the season as a whole.
