This "admit defeat" thing is really getting old. A gauntlet of fights that play out exactly the same, with zero plot progression or any ending to this subplot in sight.

I only started reading it a month or two ago, and imo it started to lose steam by around chapter 90, with the alien invasion gauntlet
at this point I'm really just hoping for turbo granny to swoop in and save the day

ep3 intro was a let down for me. first shots are hard to make out. i know okarun grabs momo and makes a dash on the wall but only because i checked the manga pages last week out of curiosity. his spacial run around the room could have been way cooler than the animation. even the very first kick is unclear wtf was that right after the separation?

In the last chapters, DanDadan is slowly transforming in PG-13 Gantz.
Adrenalinic scenes with every character having their moment, new stroy elements dropped every two pages, a chaotic and sometimes confused story.

I'm an animeonly, but I was very surprised when I realized Dandadan was a longrunning manga. The first season of the anime had the sort of quirky, manic energy that I usually associate with shorter (or at least short-ish) series, so I initially figured we'd be getting one more twelve-episode season. It's definitely not surprising to me that it's fallen into an unsatisfying/predictable formula if it's got 20+ volumes.

Plus, the Okarun/Momo romance was pushed so aggressively that, if they're still doing the "will they/won't they?" schtick after this long, I can only imagine it's gotten kind of old.

The characters either talk to the audience instead of acting like real characters, or they act exaggerated and talk nonsense that only serves the plot instead of what a character would actually say in that situation.

Im waiting for the presumably manga dialogue designed to awkwardly exposit walls of text to the reader to end so the characters can just be themselves.

But right now it’s like 80% nonstop fighting with barely any real development, and what little there is mostly goes to characters on Okarun’s side. He's talking about the Kozuka knives arc specifically you mouth breathing moron, and he's got an excellent point. It literally has been going for almost 50 chapters now, and it's now really dragging on - it should have been resolved long ago but Tatsu is cramming everything and a kitchen sink into this arc.
The worst thing is that, reminder, this is also a romcom manga in addition to a battle shounen, and we had a confession at the end of Danmara arc followed by 50 chapters of blueballing.
By every fucking metric this arc has been dragging for too long, I just rolled my eyes when they arrived at the fucking temple at last just to be dragged away into another bullshit. The hype ran out months ago, this arc needs to end, if this fucking ninja shit isn't the last of it I might drop it until it's over. The only saving grace is that they manage to keep up with the release schedule.
