Cried a bit at the end. I still dislike how underdeveloped MarixShinji was. Still, it was a ride. I really like that the rebuild series actually tackled the crux of the problem in Eva, which was Gendo's inability to accept Yui's passing or losing her to a freak accident and letting go (I think a lot of the cast, matter fact, probably all of them have this issue), which started his spiral into using the EVA/Angels to reunite with her. It was kinda sweet that Shinji acknowledges Asuka's feelings towards him at the end. Right at the shores at the end of EoE as well. Those sequence heading to the end, really felt like the Anno tying everything up, resolving everyone's issues. It really is the finality of EVA. Still, can't help but think that the series is about Anno, and how he dealt with his gripping loneliness and depression to then finally find release and happiness. That flashback with Gendo, I dunno, it felt personal, or like someone pouring their hearts out.
