There doesn't seem to be any behavior standards expected of the rich, powerful, or famous. There doesn't seem to be any notion of "with great power, comes great responsibility". In Korea, it seems like achieving wealth and power is viewed in the same sense as achieving transcendent morality.

I find the whole manhwa industry really funny. They're so insanely derivative. Someone comes up with one good idea, and everyone copies him. Not like in Japanese isekai, where they at least try to keep the concepts unique, but literally just China-tier bootlegging. Take any genre of Korean comics, and you'll find dozens of copypasted titles and covers, all telling essentially the same story. And don't get me started on more unique Korean genres, like "a bullied incel gets super powers and goes in a murder rampage". It's a fascinating look into the country's absolutely broken psyche. Their comic book industry is mostly self-published slop, and boy does it contrast with the Japanese manga industry.

Everything else isn't inherent to the Isekai concept, that's just uncreative writers copying each other.

What "easy to watch" means is that you can watch it while scrolling twitter, watching tiktoks and a random Youtube video and still enjoy it.
Put simply nothing of value happens so half-assedly paying attention to it is fine. There's no jokes to get, no dialogue that helps build the characters, no depth or extra characters to particularly care about, they're all just set pieces for when MC shows up and kills things.

I don't think the action in Solo Leveling is even that good. You can overanimate a turd, but that doesn't change it from being some of the most shallow, uninteresting fight choreography I've seen. Almost every fight, these idiots just take turns staring gormlessly at the other while they're throwing basic ass punches. Even your most basic battle shonen (or even some kodomo like Pokemon) have better choreography and more substance to their fights than this.

It's slop where the characters just slide weightlessly all over the place, pummeling each other with effects thrown over the screen to cover how little is happening. It doesn't help that the story and characterizations are so basic that there is no reason to actually care about what is happening on screen either.

Industry plant: the anime. Its hype is not organic at all and is only kept alive by Korean and pajeet shills.

I don’t think the story was anything special, in fact I agree with anon above about how cringe and desperate a lot of these Korean originating stories come off.
But the manwha was legitimately visually appealing and the anime managed to capture that and bring it to life.

Solo Leveling is amazing. I enjoy RPG games and this is basically that but in TV form. Having Sawano on the OST and sakuga in spades certainly helps too. I also like cool things, and Jinwoo is just cool. I enjoy watching a powerful character dominate and steal the spotlight.
