Most modern anime are just regurgitated garbage with flashy animation and zero originality.
The so-called ‘classics’ like Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Death Note are the only shows that actually mattered.
Everything else is just a cash grab for kids who can’t appreciate real storytelling or art.
If you disagree, you’re probably just a casual who only cares about fanservice and fight scenes.

Only good anime ever made were Diabolik Lovers and Valkyrie Drive Mermaid. Everything else was shit.

Most anime started sucking after 2016, the 00s had good shonen but the 90s had it all.

On the off chance this is not bait, you're a pretentious midwit faggot and not nearly as smart or sophisticated as you think. Not every anime needs to be some profound work of art. It's ok to enjoy dumb anime about fanservice and fight scenes, they coexist just fine with the true "classics".

So true, but take the name "Cowboy Bebop" out of your mouth when discussing Eva. Same goes for Death Note. These two aren't even on the same planet as Evangelion. Eva is easily the single best 26 episode TV show ever made, bar none. As a media-viewing experience, it's right up there with The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut, etc... I am not even trolling, either. It gets hate from tourists and midwits here because it is truly the greatest filter in anime. Either you love Evangelion for the masterpiece that it is... Or, you sadly aren't capable of understanding it, and you eventually come to despise it (either for feeling that it must be overrated, or for its real flaws.) Barring the occasions of re-used animation toward the end of its run, and the original TV release's screen shake problem (which was later fixed,) it is borderline perfect.

The only other **anime** to come close to touching the original Evangelion TV series, IMHO, is Le Portrait de Petit Cossette. Cossette was an utter masterpiece, and I have absolutely no fucking idea why so many people are sleeping on it. I have long debated with myself if it might be the single best piece of anime media ever made, ahead of Evangelion... Because they are of such radically different lengths, I think it is very difficult to say. Personally, I could not do without Evangelion, but I think it's very possible that Cossette might be it.

Wolf's Rain was admittedly fantastic, and is highly slept on. It goes way deeper than anybody expects, going into it, and is a really special show overall. BGPP was great too. Never seen Haibane Renmei, I will put this one on my watch list.

I was actually going to write a longer post, but then I knew nobody would read the entire thing.

The first half of Death Note is definitely superior to Bebop, and is a treasure of a show, for exactly the reasons you mentioned. The problem is that both the anime and the manga drop off so hard at the halfway mark. It was very difficult for me to complete it. I also feel like Samurai Champloo is superior to either of these shows for the same reasons, although the general public seems to disagree with me on this. Sadly, everything else that Watanabe ever made was complete dogshit...

But here's the catch, there's tens of thousands of anime out there; so even if most of them are bad, the remaining good ones still end up forming an impressively large catalogue.
