he should be unkillable in any predictable way, and episode 1 implies that even if his clay is taken, he can still run away with Atou.so maybe also elements of ROT3K /vts/ where generals and faction leaders can survive even after defeat.

Looking at amazon there's 6 manga volumes, 8 LN volumes, and about 170 WN chapters out. The WN is surprisingly short, I'm surprised they can make 8 volumes out of it. Seems like it's still getting updated too so it's not like the author dumped it and moved over to the LN.
