Me too. If you think about it, despite being "the Synchro" series, lots of characters didn't use any Synchro monsters. Compare to Zexal where every single character used at least one Xyz monster.

Another thing I noticed in 5D's as a whole especially is that the Synchro users' Extra Decks are really shallow in quantity. Aki, Ruka, Rua and Crow have less than five Extra Deck monsters each in the anime.

I don't know who exactly to blame, so I just said konami. Upper management? Anyway the "decision makers" diverted the bulk of the writers, animators, anyone with talent, etc to work on the darkside of dimension movie and the drop in quality of the arc v anime was palpable. Arc V went from the most promising yugioh anime with immense potential to a trainwreck and V rains was meh. And the rest is history or at least thats what I heard on /a/, maybe it's all bullshit and arc v was always doomed. I'm still upset either way.
