I honestly don't think Sword Saint is going to die without Magatsumi being destroyed first, but I could still see her character being taken in that direction but with hope that she will have a life after this is all over.

I think Magatsumi will be destroyed before Iori dies too but I think it will impose a real hardship on the characters because that becomes the only possible option and allows the baddies a way to manipulate the protagonists into helping them for fear of Iori’s life. So while Iori still technically has a chance of living Iori is gonna suffer emotionally, at least at first. She either goes really stoic or reckless in reaction. This gives space for other characters to help her.
