Tbf, that's mostly for singer idols who lean on the "purity" appeal. There's different kind of idols in Japan, and Reika was more of an actress/model type, and those get far more leeway in terms of dating.

That goes without saying. On hindsight, when I read Gantz years ago for the first time as teen, I always wondered why an adult celebrety like herself would care that much about Kurono, but years later I realized she's also just a kid herself and it makes sense she would fall in love (maybe even her first love) disregarding the consiguen like one as well.
