Solo Leveling is trash (also it is spelled LEVELLING, TWO Ls) but god damn it hooked me because I love necromancer classes, especially when you can rez bosses you just beat. That's exactly what I'd do. Love pet classes in games. Grim Dawn was the best with like 11 pets. Anyway, I've not read the manwha and I won't, but at least there was a shred of interest in how he became less and less 'human' the more powerful he got and how he seemed fine with murdering people. Also the glitching video game style 'plot' was something I wanted to see the conclusion of. Blew their load rescuing his mother half-way through S2 so they could just have him fight more shit.

I don't read these or OPM but I generally like overpowered MCs. They usually have a goal and take actions to achieve that goal, going through all sorts of adventures in the process. It's very refreshing, and a sharp contrast to the wimpy MCs that are fueled by envy and need to constantly be praised to keep going.

It's a bit dystopian. Especially with how much of the country is controlled by a few big corporations.

As for whether it's better or worse than Japan, like as a foreigner visiting/living they both have similar advantages of weak currencies, good generally healthy food etc.
Unless you have some special arrangement, unless something has changed recently iirc you can only stay in either one 90 days at a time. Which negates a lot of the cost of living benefit from being able to get a cheap rental long term lease. Short term rentals are always heavily marked up since a lot more remote workers these days just jump around Asia.
If someone is mainly interested in /jp/ related stuff, I think naturally they'd be more drawn to Japan I guess. So for most people they might find it better in that sense.
