I liked it

I grew up with Adventures before coming to the U.S. and Tamers was one of the few series I watched before moving.
Watching Juri becoming depressed after Leomon's death and what came after turned a weird trigger in me and I found out that the director for Tamers was influenced by Evangelion after I marathoned it drunk with a group of homies.
Good times.

I fucking love Digimon Tamers
I also loved Digimon Season 1. I think both of them were surprisingly good with character interaction and growth and had solid writing from start to finish.

The Digimon Hacker's Memory is also a solid game, even if the story takes a while to really go somewhere.

I've never really cared much about any other digimon media but I have high hopes for Time Stranger, and I hope we get another Digimon anime that's as focused on the characters as season 1 and 3 some day.

Tamers has the best set of human protagonists, at least partly because there are so few. I'd say it's my favorite season overall.
Tamers > Adventure > Savers > Xros Wars as far as the good or great seasons go, though I would say Frontier and Colon are decent out of the ones I've seen with 02 and Young Hunters being definitely bad. One day, I'll probably get through App Monsters and Ghost game.

I think Tamers not being as "fun" as other seasons is a fair critique. It's a bit of a heavier watch than other seasons and harder to marathon.
