The thing about Osamu is that he's not dangerous because of power, but because there's no winning move against him and his team.
You can make a beeline towards him ASAP, but then you're ignoring Yuma, Chika, and pretty soon Hyuse, who are the real threats. And hell, even the threats on the other teams.
You can ignore him, but then you're letting him set up a massive spider zone where he and his teammates can camp and force you to come for them or get survival points.
You can enter his spider zone, but then you're in his spider zone and are a sitting duck for Yuma, and frankly even four-eyes himself can nail you in this context.
In terms of actually fighting him, you can't just ignore his sekuhara bullets while he's on the field because they might be real bullets one time.
And you can't even choose a battlefield unsuited for his spider strategy because then Chika will nuke your ass.

Sure, but first you have to predict which direction Kuga would move and how he planned to move. Then you'd have to program the vipers to hit the path you predict him on. And now you can fire. As opposed to Hound, which is activate and fire. This is a battle, where even fractions of seconds matter, that's why Nasu is just built different. The weirdness of the whole interaction is why I'm not sure if scorpions can actually block a senku or if Kuga was positioned at the end of it and lucked out with only receiving a scratch.

I think at this stage the main thing you need to do is disable Chika.
Osamu is annoying, but his wires can be stopped or circumvented.
You can't circumvent the sniping, any cover Chika can remove.
So the priority is having someone either lock down or take out Chika.

Then when going to fight the wire zone there's a few things you can do (provided Chika is handled accordingly) to reduce your disadvantage
>Use Meteor to destroy structures holding the wires together
>Fight from ontop of houses/objects as spider can't be used effectively there
There's also a few things that you can do that help if you do get stuck in their combo

Kogetsu has Senku to make up for its short range and improve its general use case and Genyo to bypass strong defensive options.
Raygust has thruster as a means of reducing its biggest weakness, of it being generally slower melee trigger.

Scorpion's has 2 main weaknesses.
Durability, which an optional trigger is likely not gonna improve as it'll need to be significantly better than just saving the extra trion to make more scorpions.
Destructive potential (thruster boosted Raygust or an edge Senku will go stronger shields than scorpion), but I doubt its easy to just extend its power in the same manner as the other 2 because its a more fragile weapon to begin with.

I think I've seen someone bring that up. But what makes WT standout is all the times people didn't necessarily see something coming but upon reflection it makes sense and was obviously intended. It's something that can only really be done if you're the type of author to accept you can trick people all of the time.

Too many, and this is very common in western comics, authors will get spooked and try to change a reveal, or just come up with stuff on the fly, in order to preserve their ideal of "a big surprising reveal." But good reveals also need to make sense retroactively, which means there's always a risk they'll be caught out. Accepting that and being confident enough, and skilled enough, to pull of surprises for a chunk of the audience anyway.

It also means needing to keep attention to detail and consistency. WT excels at that too and there's a lot of things, like anons frequently pointing out Yuga's lie detector eye indicator popping up even when it's not called out otherwise, that are only visual set ups that will never get pointed out but are obvious if you look at them.

It’s a bit of a different series entirely, but when people talk about predictability, I often think of Frieren. Calling it ‘predictable’ is going too far, but I feel as if the habits of the author are too noticeable. World Trigger benefits by making it interesting how they get to the end, regardless of whether or not you can guess the outcome. The complexity of group battles probably helps that quite a bit.

So on its own, it’s difficult to really say if predictability is good or bad. Depends on the series or genre.

There's different kinds of predictable, yes. The far more tedious one is where its predictable not because of logical, in story reasons, but because of meta-narrative reasons. When you're reading a romcom and a cute girl suddenly appears, it's predictable what will happen. Not because it's been set up in the story itself, but because if you've read even a handful of similar stories you know why this event is happening from outside its own universe.

Same with all genres. There's conventions and cliches and tropes that you learn to recognize. World Trigger has its fair share, but splits the difference between executing effectively on them and also simply avoiding them otherwise. Osamu has never, and probably will never, get the power up similar "underdog" MCs get. It's just not that kind of story.
