Just watch them on the usual streaming places most of the classics are uploaded now. Some of the more obscure old shit is torrent only. I would use torrents more since it's better quality and you will actually own the files but my ISP monitors for that shit.

It's... just okay. It has alot of untapped potential. Cute/sexy girls in Iron Man suits fighting robots in a cyberpunk setting sounds cool but the show just lacks that certain x factor to make it awesome. I loved the character designs in the Tokyo 2040 show but the animation wasn't good and the story was worse. Honestly Burn Up! Excess had hotter girls with a sillier plot and if you want Cyberpunk with super edgy violence then Angel Cop is way better.

This is valid. I also agree that they could have tightened up some things. City Hunter is great cause it is basically a cheesy 80s action movie in anime form. Dirty Pair was also pretty funny. I liked the OVA better than the show.

People usually aren't good with subtle anime designs like that. Like if I have Eva characters on my shirt people will say something, but very few say something about any of my shirts with the Nerv logo. Even the fucking AoT military police logos a lot of people don't recognize. Unless it's something super well known, most people won't comment on it.

Correct, the best way to consume the Getter saga for example, is to only read the original manga series first and then watch the OVAs. In fact, the OVAs other than Armageddon such as Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo aren't really necessary unless you have nothing better to do.

The production's consistent quality is the x factor. Taste not withstanding (80's bishoujo to me is a lot sexier than the deformity adjacent girls of the 90's) I don't think you appreciate technical execution enough.

The production quality is phenomenal, but it doesn't make up for the lackluster misfire of the story. The premise of Bubblegum Crisis is just way better than what the execution was, a problem that alot of anime has.

I watched it before fast internet became common. Old time fansubs would send vhs through mail and even rent a theater where they would show a few episodes of some series and a movie. Those guys made better subs than anyone today official or fansub.
