I recently read about Mandaeans, a weird gnostic religion that mixes pre-rabbinic judaism and proto-orthodox christianity and considers John the Baptist as the final prophet and think Joshua is a fraud. It would be exactly the kind of fringe lore Ito would be into, if she was still alive.
