the fact that it's a constant smooth shot is a pretty solid indication.

It gets said a decent bit but I feel like the problem with so much animation is rarely to do with the animators themselves. On a certain level they still show case technical ability. Rather the issue is a deeper on that has to do with a lack of direction or how proper film making works. There's a lot that goes into this kind of thing and I'm no film school expert so I can only give my own layman opinion but it really seems to me to be a fault of directors rather than animators.

I think I'm inclined to agree. there was a thread a while ago comparing OPM season 1 to modern shows like frieren and solo leveling and while the animation was comparable I think there was a pretty major difference in subject matter where OPM really shone with the framing and pacing and "camera angles"
Nothing wrong with the other shows' animation really but the clips posted In the thread were simply less readable and depicting less interesting movement
