Determining the allied troops stood no chance by themselves, the Order of Cadoract
placed themselves on the front line against the Land of the Rising Sun.
The battle between them was the height of atrocity,
seemingly becoming mired in a deadlock
...but then,

the hostilities abruptly ceased.
A single Knight had swooped down into the battlefield
and driven the Samurai into a catastrophic condition.

That Knight was her,
a simple "Knight in Green" at that time.

She could've been in her teens back then, and a gracefully-aging cake now. But the backstory does raise a lot of questions about how and why Cadoract talked a bunch of countries into invading not-Japan, and what sort of concessions they got from the Shogunate since it wasn't a total surrender. Also why Kagura knew almost nothing about this recent-ish big invasion, and isn't leerier of working with the former invaders after hearing they started it.

As for why she wasn't leery, I have no clue either. But all things considered, I think they're going back there sooner or later for an important MacGuffin, so this is the setup for that.
