I went from disliking Flute for being selfish to feeling sorry for her. I think all this may have been Oki's fault for not explaining things to her properly.
In the end, the real monster was Rabi's furry mother.

Same, and that's a sign of the mangaka's skill.
Pinning the blame on Oki doesn't seem like what the manga's going for. Explanations can only do so much, people mainly learn through experience. The lesson seems to be that worship and hatred are equally isolating and damaging. The desire to understand each other is what brings people closer and makes relationships worthwhile.
The worst you can say about Oki is that she gave Flute a taste of that happiness and then left her with people who didn't care about truly knowing her.

reminds me of this other manga where the villain was really really off and somehow corrupted a super ancient alien into becoming his waifu, which resulted in her nearly dying and him going bonkers destroying the universe trying to revive her.

Thanks OP. I really liked this chapter, this manga still manages to retain some of that mysterious magic, but maybe that's just me.
I quite like how the conflict between monsters and humans is presented here. It's not going the route of >monster are actually are good chungus harmless, while still managing to make you care about them. I'm unsure whether I like Flute dying here, despite it making sense for a lot of characters to kill her.
Another thing about this manga that might just be me is that the author has managed to capture a sense of mystery when presenting the Mother. I'm mentioning it because in this chapter it felt a bit like we were getting closer to "seeing" her. It's not bad, since that's what MC wants to achieve, but I hope that later on in the story there's still some of that uncertainty whether we really know what kind of a person she was.
I don't want her to turn into a completely regular person because I'll feel like I've tricked myself. First chapters left me with a particular mood and feelings and I cling onto them for now.

I'd say Oki's issue is that despite wanting to understand Monsters she truly doesn't even have a good base to start on, I think she severely underestimated just how "different" monster thinking is compared to human thinking. She shows up like a whirlwind, becomes this monsters only and best friend then fucks off leaving them confused and heartbroken, the emotional equivalent of raising an orphaned bear on people food then leaving it out in the woods, surprised it comes down to wreck havoc.

The monster Rabi meet after being furrified by Alfur and that he's now wearing is the best example. Oki taught him that she was his friend, but she didn't teach him what is a friend and the monster was confused over why that is important and what feelings are.
Still, we don't know how monsters interact with each other and if all them follow the same line of thinking. Dron, for example, wasn't malicious, was very fond of the souls in his realm and took a liking to Rabi.

Did Oki really even know herself? She got her own first lessons in friendship from a monster. It seems like Oki didn't really get humans or monsters; the former from lack of experience, the latter because of the differences between them. Which I guess makes sense that she was trying to understand them.

It just feels like it, a decisive moment, she remembered the thanks etc. but it's not like a hill I'll die on, I was just complimenting author's ability to make the reader feel sympathy for monsters while also making it feel justified for them to be persecuted by humans.
