I quite like how the conflict between monsters and humans is presented here. It's not going the route of >monster are actually are good chungus harmless, while still managing to make you care about them. I'm unsure whether I like Flute dying here, despite it making sense for a lot of characters to kill her.
Another thing about this manga that might just be me is that the author has managed to capture a sense of mystery when presenting the Mother. I'm mentioning it because in this chapter it felt a bit like we were getting closer to "seeing" her. It's not bad, since that's what MC wants to achieve, but I hope that later on in the story there's still some of that uncertainty whether we really know what kind of a person she was.
I don't want her to turn into a completely regular person because I'll feel like I've tricked myself. First chapters left me with a particular mood and feelings and I cling onto them for now.
