>>280841448In-universe, the mynoghrans are difficult because they have bad research capabilities, because their base citizens are weird ghoul-homunculi who are immune to moral, negative as well as positive, so they cannot produce more resource or research if you make happiness-boosting buildings. Also, they're bad at research, but good at resource gathering.
They also have weird units that give bonuses to other units you normally wouldn't have, like plague doctors that can give morale bonuses to humanoid units and cities (the mynoghrans and their cities do not count as humanoid in the game).
Some of their hero units like Atou start really weak, and there's another mynoghran hero unit who is literally uncontrollable (gives lots of bonuses, but its AI makes it act alone).
Now, in an isekai world, where you don't act under the turn rule, but make things as fast as your peeps can build, things change.
The protagonist now can use smart dark elves to do infrastructure, social policies and magic research, which will be much smarter than if he put his homunculi citizens to the task.
