My mom loves Sakura. And I think that's because it's a slice-of-life anime. One thing that bugs me about when people talk about Sakura is how they say it's a deconstruction, when in fact it goes back to what Maho shojo was before Rayearth and Sailor Moon brought sentai and shonen elements to the genre. Pre-90s Maho shojo was Slice of Life anime with magical elements.
