Btw, check out our other series if they look interesting to you. Also, we're looking for redrawers to help us with a new series called Darwin's Deadly Sins. You can check it out here: https://desuarchive.org/a/thread/280719895
There are more translated chapters, so if there's enough interest, I can dump them.

This Bloodborne talk made me think, isn't this kind of The One Reborn more than the Moon Presence, with all the slime, random body parts, and shedding pieces of itself? And the wind god that killed it is basically Amygdala, lmao.

One reborn was a failed attempt to gain the power of the Great Ones, fusing everyone together, but it wasn't a true Great One. It wasn't even kin, just an amalgamated mess. I think you have a point, in that the failures are like ones reborn, in that they're failures filled with power from an external source, but the Moon Presence is that external source, and keeps trying to find a good host. Aunt didn't make it. Asama knew to avoid it. But now, the Moon Presence thinks that the Nephew may be a good host, to be the next Gehrman. Maybe that's what they have in common, they're favored as hosts by Great Ones.

The fact the Birth-Monk saw both Inubousaki and Wakashio as damaged goods basically is interesting. It makes me think that the reason the wind god left is because he recognized that the thing targeting Inubousaki (and Wakashio as well) was much more dangerous than the thing he just killed.

The wind god was said to be mercurial, but yeah I too got the feeling it was outclassed and dipped. Whoever or whatever the Moon Presence targets seems to make the person utterly unpalatable to other entities. Man I fucking love this series.

It's the only Japanese one at least that I can think of that doesn't do the "gods are born/powered by faith" thing. The fact the gods preexist and that the strongest among them (like the wind god) can even ignore the bindings of faith really make it feel like those ancient religions that sacrificed people had a reason behind their existence.

Well, a few of these things aren't gods, they're a tier above. For example, Gerai the Anglerfish was brought down by land descent, but it failed because he was too powerful. Gerai then proceeded to consume everyone in town AND the local gods, and turn the area into his personal hunting ground. Wind God was probably powerful enough to fend off most threats from his land, but couldn't stand up to a true Great One. Compare this to the mirror entity or the stalker entity they had to use soul separation for. Spirits, gods, Great Ones.

I dont think Inubousaki and her nephew are cursed by the Moon Presence but rather something else entirely since birth that would cause her to be scolded for the most part avoided by her family then her nephew told not to be like her. Does the Wind God really fear the Moon Presence if it can so easily gobble up its spawn and rest while the Moon takes over the land?

>Does the Wind God really fear the Moon Presence if it can so easily gobble up its spawn and rest while the Moon takes over the land?
It's the old trope of having a grueling close fight against a monster, only to realize said monster was a baby and its more powerful parent is on its way.

Yeah, the Jizo statues I'd understand since those could be old enough. But the scooters or even the little bauble on the counter should all be too young.

>What is Land Descent again?
The act of binding a spirit or god to a particular location. If there's a local God they might also be helpful in keeping the bound spirit in check but at least in the Anglerfish' case it wound up supplanting the previous god of the area.
>What is the presence again?
The thing that took Asama's sister. I'm not really sure of it's true nature but it only seems to target people with spiritual sight and once it does it starts an aggressive possession of the target leading to an eventual consumption.
